Do you have to make an appointment or can you just go?? I was thinking of looking either tomorrow or Sunday and I just dont want to go and waste my time if they wont see me. Also, if anyone has any suggestions on places to go in the Nassau area, that would be very helpful! Thanks

Re: Bridal Shops
Alot of shops do require that you have an appointment for bridal gowns.
I got my dress at Moonlight Couture in Merrick and I have been happy with them so far. RK bridal in the city was great and had a huge selection of dresses.
The Macy's in Manhasset has a bridal salon in it. I went there with no appointment and didn't have a problem. They had a big selection too.

Re: Bridal Shops
I went to:
with an appointment - i called last minute to some and they were able to fit me in- CALL TODAY! Many are not open on sundays - estelles, davids are though and my place- bridal suite were but i dont think they always are on sundays.
I would suggest that you call ahead that way the wait is less time.
Definitley call Lillette's in Baldwin- if you can ask for Gerri- she's a doll to work with.
I know that you can just walk into some places like David's Bridal and that wouldn't be a problem.
HTH and Good luck and have fun!

Re: Bridal Shops
this is just a comment about bridal shops from a 4x bridesmaid 1x moh... do NOT go to Centereach Bridal Suite....... I was a BM 3 years ago and they were great to me and the dress was lovely..... but I was a MOH and a BM in 2007...... and they messed up our dresses for both weddings..... and when my dress didn't fit me correctly because the alterations were done to fit the WRONG PERSON.. (they gave me the wrong person's gown) the owner said, and I quote.. 'It's not my fault if you gain weight' nice right????? We finally got everything corrected both times.. but both times within 6 mos of each other in 2007... it was a NIGHTMARE... i just tell people to be careful if they go there because recently, it hasn't been too pleasant......

Well I went to Bridal Reflections in Carle Place and they were able to squeeze me in. They were very nice and very helpful. I tried on about 7 dresses but did not find the one just yet. I know ive got plenty of time. I think next time I will make an appointment just so I dont inconveince anyone. Im in no rush but I just wanted to appease my mom

Re: Bridal Shops
I went to My Daughter's Wedding III in Great Neck to browse without an appointment and didn't have a problem...my mom and i were looking at the dresses they had out for a while until they noticed we were there, but once we got a salesperson, it was a good experience.
They did, however, recommend calling ahead next time just so they can have dresses ready for me.

Re: Bridal Shops
If you go during the week when most people are working they will allow you to walk right in, most places require and appointment for weekends but will fit you in when they can.
