I am going to go shopping for my dress next week, and I would like to know of bridal shops where people had a good experience. I'd rather not go somewhere that i'll be ignored or charged too much for something that shouldn't be. Can everyone give me some names and towns of where they went for their dresses?
I'll also take places of where NOT to go. Thanks!

I bought mine at Macy's in Smith Haven Mall. The lady I used was awesome... too bad her name has completely LEFT my mind!

I loved Adrienne's! Highly recommend them. For alterations, request Cleo!!
I was in a wedding at Centerreach and have mixed things to say and Bridal Reflections basically made me feel like a fat pig when I went there saying the dress won't close. Not **** surlock, I know that. Would never step foot in there agaiN!
Basically all salons have goods and bads.

Ok, I am using Adriennes. While I do not know how it will come out, they were actually really nice. some people have had VERY bad experiences with them and do not have nice things to say. I will say this... ONLY DEAL WITH CHRIS. She is soooooooooooooooooooo nice and helpful and she literally makes the shop. Call ahead, make sure she has time for you. I was with her for hours and she helped me make a choice and she was just so pleasant and not obnoxious. HTH!

Remembered! Doreen at Macy's! I knew it started with a 'D'! She was SO nice and AWESOME! And even had an eye for the PERFECT tiara and veil... and even how I should wear my hair!

Try Bridal suite of Bay Shore too, they have been great so far! Very nice, and easy to deal with.

We had some problems with them...namely we ordered our BM dresses in NOVEMBER for our July wedding, they came in MID JUNE and couldn't explain why! We ordered that early since my sister/BM lived in Germany and I wanted to send her the dress to be altered and then there was no time...In the end it all worked out since we took her dress elsewhere the day before the wedding!!

I second Helen's Boutique!!!!!!!!! They're located in WEDDING WORLD and everyone here is wonderful and one of the seamstresses is from kleinfeld's with 20 + years experience!!

I'm with you! Chris has been great to work with and is always so pleasant and accomodating when I call and ask some annoying question. I've had no worries so far with them.

For just shopping I had a great experience at Fantasia in Rocky Point and Paradise Bridal in Patchogue... however Paradise turned into a NIGHTMERE once we placed our order... Fantasia was AWESOME with alterations! (i moved my dress to there)

I didn't have a good experience with a bridesmaid dress at Adrienne's, so I wouldn't even shop there when it came to my wedding gown.
I recommend Bridal Suite in Centerreach...I got my BM dresses there.
I got my dress at Lillette's in Baldwin - SO worth the trek from suffolk!
