Who was invited? I assumed close family and friends...
But i got a lot of c*ap last night from the FMIL that her co-workers were not invited...
ANYONE else stressing over this?

Re: Bridal shower
I did stress about this for a while... but I decided to pass a list to the MOH to invite all women who are invited to the wedding. That way no one can complain about not being invited... plus, not all invited will go.
I have 135 guests, about 55 of them are women. However, I know that all the women will not attend to the Bridal Shower. I'm expecting probably a turnout of no more than 40 people.

Re: Bridal shower
I had NO say in the guest lsit.
They invited msot of the woman fromt eh weddign lsit. 1 of FMIls cowroerks wa sinvited & teh othe roen wans't. Fh speciifed peopel from his mom's lsit to invite, but he doesn't remeber if there was reason she wasn't invited or if he forgot. FMIl asked me if she ever rsvp'd & at the tiem I din't know, but I asked my mom & she checked the list & said she wasn't on it. FMIL didn't ask again, so i didn't brignit up.
It would have been weird if she was there though. Fh barely knows these people, let alone me.
1 of my own cowrkers wasn't invited either b/c she was a maybe on the guest list ( now a yes) when the shower invites went out.

Re: Bridal shower
I wanted only close friends and family that I knew, FMIL stressed me out and wanted cousins and friends that I have never met. She had a list of 21 people I narrowed it down to 4! Don't sweat it, it is you shower have who you want!

Why in the world would your FMIL's co-workers be invited? Are you close to them?
I feel that showers are for close friends and family ONLY...

Re: Bridal shower
Yeah i hear ya BUT i just get annoyed that my FMIL is complaining about not having her friends there when she has NEVER contributed any time or energy to oganizing/helping with this event. They only time we heard from her was when she complain about who was not invited...

Re: Bridal shower
I invited the women I am closest too. Mine and FH's aunts and friends of the families and my closest girl friends. I did not invit my female co-workers as I am sure they will do something for me in the office. I had about 50 people on my list.
ETA: I think my BM's are paying for my shower, so I didn't want it to get out of control either.

I wasn't talking about my co-workers, who weren't invited actually. These women are my FMIL's co-workers!!!!
And i agree, i didn't want it getting out of control either which is why i said no

Oh, I was thinking it would be like 20 people. Still...you have every right to be p!ssed.
Even with the party crashers, I bet you have a great time!

Re: Bridal shower
Had lots of issues with this. FMIL is insistant that her friends that I've never met come and I was bent out of shape for a while.
But then I thought, the people I AM close to will still be there and more people means more presents. Plus, I shouldn't be the one who feels awkward, they are the ones going to a total stranger's shower!!
I figure if I let her win this battle I can play that card for a little while with both FH and her.

Re: Bridal shower
Why is your FMIL even talking to you about it?? She should leave you out of it, and if she wants to complain to anyone, complain to the people who are throwing it and paying for it.

She doesn't come to me about it. She tell my FH who tells me! Why she can't just call my mom is beyond me.
