ok, first of all, whoever decided that bridal showers should be a surprise was obviously NOT a bride. i've got 3 months till my wedding, a ton of **** to do, and have to worry about when my shower is so that i don't accidentally plan something the day of. talk about stress.
anyhow, point of my post.... my shower could very possibly be this saturday. fh's stepmom slipped a while back about the 19th, fh's friend sent me an email a few weeks back apologizing for not being able to make the shower, and i got a gift in the mail. oh, and my friend invited me to a family event this weekend - i haven't been invited to one of her family events in at least 8 years. HOWEVER, aside from that gift and a couple of other items, NOTHING IS OFF MY REGISTRY.
now, i could be logical and just assume that the shower is not this weekend. i would imagine that if it's not this weekend it has to be soon if invites when out. the only thing is that nobody's 'booked' a weekend with me or made plans for anything for any other weekend.
so, if it IS this weekend, why do you supposed nothing's off my registry?

Re: bridal shower
Because a lot of people wait till the last minute, so that if the bride peeks, they don't have an idea that it is that weekend lol.
But seriously, I always wait till the night before or day of to buy a gift. It is easier for me that way, so maybe others feel the same way.
