i want smaller, i hope thats what i get . i understand i have a huge family(italian) but they dont all have to be invited do they?

I think mine will be about 40 ppl....my mom decided that only the closer cousins in my big Italian family will be invited....it was tough enough convincing my dad that all of his first cousins' children couldn't be invited to the wedding since FH has a BIG family, my Italian dad thinks all of his cousins should be invited to the shower too....but my mom is more logical.....us crazy Italians! oh well....

im thinking close to 100ppl...which is nice i like large parties its fun to have everyone there to celebrate for you...and the gifts are great too lol... im italian so the more people the better!!!

For mine I wanted small and intimate.
Not sure what i'm gonna get however and i'm a little freaked about it. FMIL wants to invite everyone and their sister (or so I hear).
I think it should be whatever you're comfortable with however.

i have a pretty big italian family, but at my shower, i told my mother that i do not want all of them there...just those who i see regularly...it will probably be more than 50...but not tremendous

I say it doesn't matter. I depends on how close you are to people. I know I am going to have a little over 130 people at my shower.

i really want a small intimate shower. they say every woman invited to your wedding gets invited. but i can't see inviting women i never met before. for examplie my boss' wife or FH friends girlfriends

I would like a big one but this wedding is really a reality check that I really don't know THAT many people I am nervous because I will be having people who live far away and I'm afraid none of them will come!

I think my shower will work out to be over 50 people. FH and I both have good size families with a lot of women. Plus I want my friends to be there.

We are inviting about 50 and expect about 35-40. IDK if thats concidered small or not.
Maybe you can narrow it down a bit if you dotn want a large party, but you also dont want anyone to be left out if they are close to you.
Do you have other cousins or anyone who got married recently...if so- what did they do. You dont want to not invite people who were invited to a cousins shower 6 months ago, ya know.

i know what you mean, and i do have a big family and were close, so i can only imagine the shower my sisters and mom are going to throw, and there great cooks and there having it catered, o'well i guess i'll get lots of gifts.

He has about 8 aunts, plus their kids which are fh's first cousins and are older. FH is close to them and yes they see eachother. Everyone on the guestlist are people that he sees. Also had to invite my side plus my friends and also some of fh's friends wives/fiancee's and gf's because i was invited to their showers so it would be wrong not to plus we see them often so its a bit different. Fh has a big family though so thats why

yeah, that would not go over so well, but i cant wait to see them in the room with alot of crazy italians, haha, it will be interesting, but fh mom is soo tiny and just sooo sweet.
