Bridal Shower

I know its probably a year away...but I was wondering if I'm able to request that my shower NOT be a surprise. I am not very girly, just usually a jeans/t-shirt girl on the weekends.

I know sometimes the BMs will bring a dress for the bride-to-be...but I'll still have messy hair, no makeup on, and lets face it...my legs will probably be unshaven!!!!

I don't want to be caught off-guard...is this a ridiculous request?? Or do I just have to look nice every Friday-Saturday until my wedding???

i donot want a surprise either. i keep telling my sister that i hate surprises. So i am going to bug my niece about it alot maybe she will slip and tell me.

I feel the same way. I want to know in advance. I love to get dressed up...when I have a reason...but if I dont..you'll likely find me a bit messy. I dont want to look at pics from my shower and think I look like a beast b/c I didnt know.

I dont know why it's a surprise anyway. Everyone knows they are getting one...and you essentially pick your gifts...so why cant you know when it is!

i actually want it to be a suprise. after my sister (MOH) forces FH & i to register i will know its getting close. so i am going to make sure i will be ready.

I don't want to know at all. Love surprises. Trust my family enough to know they'll do it up nice.

I would just be upfront with everyone. Unfortunately, you always seem to find out. People slip, you find an invitation (my SIL found hers on a friends fridge). Other SIL just made sure every weekend she had a nice outfit on so she was always prepared. She ended up finding out a week before.

i was told last night by my girls they are not telling me when it is... the told me 4 mnths b4 the wedding pick out an outfit and give it to my MOH lol sowhenever it is and im suprised they will bring it lol

Hee hee true...there will be one weekend when all of my girlfriends are 'busy' and I'll know something is up...and I guess as stuff starts to fly off the registry you'll know its coming!!

FH's family is all over the country so many of them I have only met once/twice if at all...I don't want to be known as the messy girl that's marrying Peter!!

I doubt mine will be a surprise, my mom has already started talking to me about mine, and i have already said around the time that i woudl want it and the theme that i would want, other than that i really don't care

I want to know when it is kinda.

I just know it will be the day I go out in sweats and little to no make up.

I hate surprises too! I must know when it is bc I need to be ready for it! I'm worried though bc everyone was so good at keeping the engagement a secret from me...everyone but FH that is, so I will try to get it out of him! lol He's horrible at keeping secrets lol

I know my FH will probbaly have a brain fart and leave for work (he works weekends) that day and say 'Enjoy your shower!!'

my mom is planning mines with my bm's. i know she REALLY wants to tell me because I am the DIY/creative one in the family- but nevertheless, it will be a surprise. I really want a surprise because it has always been hard to surprise me. For once I want to be thrown off track. I just plan to look good every weekend from March 2010- until. lol

just keep an eye on your registry...once you see the items being puchased start looking nice for friday-sunday...Thats one way to tell when your shower is coming up!!

I want it to be a surprise. I don't think it will be (my friends can't keep a surprise between the lot of them). So I'm going to try awful hard not to find out.

I already told both MOH that I do not want a surprise because I want to dress nice get my hair and nails done! I don't think it is too early to say it.
