this may sound like a stupid question but who is 'supposed to' throw your bridal shower??? is it the parents or bridal party??? I know its done both ways but is protocol usually???

I think traditionally it is the MOH and/or BMs, but it doesn't really matter, I don't think. When my MOH got married this summer the bridal party threw it and paid for everything, but for my shower I think my mom is going to pay for the food and the bridal party will pay for decorations etc.

My mom is throwing my bridal shower... I have a small wedding party and I don't want to burden them with the finances of it! I've been in many weddings and have never had to pay for the shower... they've usually been thrown by the mother of the bride.

I think it depends on who has the money!
I think my mom is basically paying for my shower, but my bridesmaids will definitely be helping big time!

i think it depends on who wants to offer to help pay... my SIL is not in the BP and she lives OOT but she is working with my sister (BM) and my mom to organize it... as well as my godmother.. meanwhile my MOH hasn't even asked me about one.

The weddings I have been in the mob and moh has paid for the shower but the bms took other jobs like rsvps orcame up with games and bought game gifts. The mob or moh never asked us to chip in money

My mother is going to be throwing my shower and said the girls can handle the fun stuff like decorations and games. I think it really just depends on each situation - sometimes the BP throws the whole thing, sometimes its both the BP and Mom and sometimes it's just the mom.
I've been a few BP and some it was just the BP and some a mixture of the BP and Mom throwing it.

My mom is doing it since I have a small bridal party and they all have kids, mortgages, etc. My MOH did the invitations and other stuff but my mom is paying for the bulk of everything. My mom made my baby shower when I adopted my daughter in 2008. I'm a lucky girl
