I have no idea.. I'm guessing my maid/matron of honor and bridesmaids will take care of this. I don't want them to do anything big.

I'm guessing that both my matron and maid of honor will take care of most of it but I would figure my bridesmaids will take part in it as well. At least I hope so.

Yea, I'm assuming my mom and bridal party, since all but one of my BM's are my sisters. That's what we did for my sister's bridal shower

My mom and MOH (sister) are taking care of most of it. Hoping the rest of the bridal party helps out too.

Re: Bridal Shower ?

it appears as though it's generally a split cost? as a MOH, is it safe to assume it's OK or reasonable or customary for the bridal party to chip in...i understand i may pay a little more...but it should be a split cost, correct?

My mother will pay for it. I have been in many bridal parties and never was asked to pay for a shower. We have had bridal party gifts that we all chipped in for (like Tv's, dining room set, etc) and put together the games with prizes but never had to pay for the venue.

I think different families have different customs. Sometimes the mother takes it on and in other families it is almost taboo for the mother to pay for the daughter's shower..

As a bridesmaid numerous times I have always split the cost equally with the bridal party for the shower..

Oh no... I know you don't want to let your friend down but in this day and age it is difficult to pay for something like that.

Mother of the bride and the bridal party. I do believe that mom and MOH pay the majority of the price. I could be wrong.

exactly! especially as a young 20 something, fresh out of grad school, working only 10 months and has her own wedding to plan, new car to buy (because i'm driving a 99 right now) and house hunting....i think it's very inappropriate for her to suggest this is solely my expense...

Crashing - why not do a backyard party - If she is being that selfish then make something beautiful on the cheap :)

IMO a bridal shower shouldnt be a huge event and theres no need for a venue or somewhr u have to pay a pp rate unless you plan to have a big glist.

Prob my maid/matron of honor will host my shower in either of their places, everyone bring a dish, chip in for some cute n cheap decoratons and their u go.. bridal shower done! Lol Thats how I would want it done.

it def may come to this...my backyard is large and could easily accomodate, i would have to OK with my parents though and parking might be an isue...however it's her head count i need to know first because if it's gonna be anymore then 60 people, it's gonna be expensive anyway i go about doing it...

Re: Bridal Shower ?

plus for a backyard, i might have to think about renting a tent which i haven't priced but i assume could be costly...plus chairs and tables
