Bridal Shower Advice
My bridesmaids were bugging me for a bridal shower guest list, so I made the list and it consists of SIXTY (60) people.16 invitees definitely will not attend because they live out of state.
12 invitees are may or may not attend for a variety of reasons (out of state, due dates, etc).
There are 3 invitees who are married to FH's friends. 2 of the 3 I've developed a close relationship with. The 3rd wife is a very nice person but I don't talk to or see her as much as the other two for a variety of reasons. But, they all run in the same circle. Should I still invite her?
Any other tips for cutting the guest list? I don't want my bridesmaids to beat me up!

I have almost 70 on my list, with maybe 15 people we know won't come but we need to send an invite anyway.

Same here, I had 70 on my list but I know about 12-15 people wouldn't come because they were either out of town or older relatives we are obligated to invite but I didn't want to leave anyone invited to the wedding off the list.

Thanks everyone. A lot of the invitees are obligatory, and I don't expect them to come. I'm not sure what to do with FH's friend's wives because I don't want to offend anyone. I feel like it's an all or nothing deal.

Re: Bridal Shower Advice
For my sister's shower, we got two lists: hers and his. Since it was her shower we invited all on the list (most were family and mutual friends). His list we invited all his family. We did warn him that it was too many people and we were cutting his friends (she was not close to any of them).
My suggestion is give the list to your bridal party but maybe break it up in two parts: must invite and maybe's. Let them decide the budget.

I have almost 75 on my list. Again a lot of out of state and older people. Not sure how many will end up coming. As far as FH's friends wives go, I'd say send an invite to everyone, whoever isn't comfortable coming can just decline and those who want to be there will come and have a fabulous time with you.

Mine is 65 too and I think I have a pretty small wedding. Regarding FH friends, I invited only those that I'm friendly with as well. There are some I see at parties and chat with, but they weren't invited. If you have three that run in the same circle and only one who you're not as close with, I think I would still invite her. Only because it's one person and for one person I'd rather not ruffle feathers. If she doesn't feel close to you or comfortable going she may decline so you'll be OK either way. And your guest list, with those you anticipate not coming you'll wind up having a smaller shower (around 30 people) which I think is a good size. Your bridesmaids should be OK with that, it's very manageable. Good luck!!

Bridal Shower Advice
I invited 50, basically wound up being all of the females invited to the wedding (which personally, I am not crazy about as there are about 3 women from my fiance's side that I wouldn't recognize on a daily basis/have never met.)I did not invite out of town guests to the shower.
