Bridal Shower / Bachelorette Party

I'm on a roll with questions today! I'm MOH for my brother's wedding so I'm trying to plan FSIL's bridal shower and bachelorette party. I asked her to send me a list of people she wants to invite to each, and she just asked me if she's supposed to invite the wives of the groomsmen. I was a little stumped on that one?

So are you supposed to invite the wives of the groomsmen to one or both? It seems like it would depend on the relationship you have with them, but I don't want to assume that and then insult somebody.

Thanks again for the advice, ladies!

Re: Bridal Shower / Bachelorette Party

I was always under the assumption that any female invited to the wedding was invited to the bridal shower, but I guess that can also depend on the size of the wedding. As for bachelorette party, I'd think only close friends & family of the bride,

Bridal Shower / Bachelorette Party

No, not required. It really depends on her relationship with the female.
Also, remember sometimes people don't want to feel obligated to go. If the groomsman wife doesn't know anyone, it might be best not to put her in that position. I suggest putting some people on a B list and look at the numbers. The shower adds up and you might want some people to cut.

Bridal Shower / Bachelorette Party

Good points.

FH's mom says it's the 'right' thing to do as it allows the spouses to acquaint themselves with the women attending the wedding since it's awkward for them not to know anybody at the wedding. But I can definitely see not wanting to feel obligated to go. I wouldn't, LOL.

Thanks ladies!
