Isn't the bridal shower suppose to be specifcally the brides close family and friends? So when i intially said I only want 50 people at my shower, and told FMIL that she can invite 20 people, that was fair right? I mean, My family (including FH;s immediate family) and friends should come first. Well guess what?!! FMIL thinks she should have a right to invite more people!!!!! AND INCREASE THE HEADCOUNT FROM 50 TO 70!!!!!!! ***!? IS SHE PAYING FOR THIS??!! NOOOOO! My mother is!!! And MOH/Sis!!! And for once they listened!!
And I don't want people I don't know there!
Can someone please tell me that I am right and that I am not being selfish?!! I didn't know FMIL was the bride... I thought I was!!

You're definitely right. Maybe you or your FH can talk to her and say nothing personal but your mom and sis are paying for it and they don't have the $$ to throw a huge shower.
Maybe she'll get the hint and contribute for the cost.
