Bridal shower invite question

Bridal shower invite question

Let me 1st start by saying I have a few sets of lingerie already (3). I am very, very picky about what I wear when I entertain . Especially since some stuff works wonders and some stuff makes you wonder why you even picked it up. Mom, who is throwing the shower w/BP & FH, wanted to know if she could inform guests, via the invite, that all lingerie has been taken care of. Is this rude? Do you think guests would be annoyed? Opinions? Suggestions?

well I have never heard of anyone doing that before but I got all of that from my mom and BP who know my taste..no one else besides them got me any really...and I haven't seen anyone else but mom and bp give it at any showers I have been to recently so you should be safe!

I think that is kind of weird personally. I don't think you will get a lot of lingerie, and if you do, so be it. People are giving you gifts - a registry is a suggestion of what you want and if people choose not to buy off of it just hope it comes with a gift receipt. I don't think you should tell people what not to buy you, but that is just my opinion.

tough one. are there some guests that you think will buy you lingerie? perhaps you or your mom can hint to them not to buy anything.

i think her sending out an email to guests would be a bit much. but i understand why you would want to. i would just leave it as is--and then return anything you get that you dont want. its not like you have to worry about wearing it in front of the person who bought it and say 'look i'm using what you got me!:'

Melissa your don't think a poloroid thank you card would be in order here? Mom is worried & concerned because she wants it perfect. I just didn't know if this method of getting the word out is proper. Also, I don't have a good relationship with his FMIL and two FSIL (seen as the evil b%tch who took him away), mom thinks they will get me under garments. During our e-party none of them purchased from our registry (or gave a check).
