Bridal Shower locations

Hi folks - I need to find a good place for my sister's bridal shower. I'm looking in Queens (primarily Bayside area) and am willing to go as far east as Manhasset. Hoping some place sunny and warm - any suggestions? We'll be hosting approx 40 people.

Our cake topper was a color photocopy of our prom picture, I put it on foam board and cut around the picture, to make it look like we were standing on top of the cake. It was so cute.

Good luck to all, and have a blast on your day. Everyone said I was the calmest Bride they ever saw. Just remember, enjoy everything and don't drink too much, you have your whole honeymoon to drink. You want to remember everything on your wedding day.

One suggestion I can offer, although I don't know prices, is that Kathleen, the catering sales manager at The Inn At Great Neck, has been wonderful. I've reserved some rooms there for my guests and she is sending me menu info for rehearsal, brunch etc. You might want to call her. They have a web page www.innatgreatneck.com

I haven't tried the food, but the lobby is beautiful and the service to date has been first rate across the board! I'm expecting the food to be as good.

In trying to set up hotel rooms, they are the only one that has been a pleasure to work with. Most others have not returned calls, been perfunctory at best when finally reached, and so on.

I'll let you know what else I discover too. My future MIL lives near Northern and Bell and is looking for options in the area. What is your target date for the shower?

I just had my bridal shower on Sunday at Arriana's on Crossbay Boulevard in Howard Beach (across the street from Russo's On The Bay). The place was really nice, the food, as well as, the staff were both great. Just an idea...

There is a place called Louie's in Port Washington. It is right on the water of LI Sound and they have a private room in the back. On the water would be a nice sunny place.

Find out the most you can, before the day comes.

Targeting November of this year. A little early for a May wedding, but I really want to surprise her and I figure she'll be looking for it come January.

One word of caution - in my humble experience - stay away from Pier 25A. I was there 1.5 yrs ago w/my dad and we saw a roach crawling up the wall behind me, told the waiter, he came over, killed it and walked away. No apologies, no embarrassment, no effort to make us more comfortable. Gross.....again, this was just my experience, but enough to keep me from going back again!

Both are great ideas. I need to find out where all of our guests are coming from. Pt Wash may be too out of the way - not sure. But I love the water idea - I'll check them out!! Thanks!
