Hello ladies.. I am getting really excited-my matron of honor called me to ask for numbers for my shower.. she said she needs them very soon.
FH's family is pretty big and mine is smaller. My fsil had her shower in April and from what I understand, there were a lot of people on her list!
is there an etiquette for how many people to invite from both sides? MOH says that there should be more from my side.. is this true??
I need some input!
TIA

Re: bridal shower numbers..
The sides do not need to be even. If FH has a larger family than yours than they will have more guests. You can't not invite FHs family members just because they have more than you. Of course, if you can only have a certain amount of people based on size/money limitations, then you can tell your FMIL sh can only invite XX amount of people.

yea, the issue is money and size... so I don't want to invite too many people.. that's good to know... thanks!!

Re: bridal shower numbers..
Well find out how many people in total you can have. Then make your own guest list and see what that number is. Have your mom or MOH talk to your MIL and let her know the situation and how many guests she can have. She will either stick to that number or offer to pay for extra guests.

I have NO ONE from his side at all!!!!!! His mom passed away almost 10 years ago, and he really doesn't keep in touch with a lot of his family. Very sad actually. I have met one of his aunts and cousins a few times but I felt silly inviting them. The others that I know live in Syracuse.

Re: bridal shower numbers..
my shower guests were basically most of the women who are invited to the wedding...except for spouses of people who work with FH that we really don't know...and people who live out of town
