Bridal shower question..

Ok, I am in my old roommates wedding in october. We have not talked in months and havent seen each other in years. Over a year ago she asked me to be in her wedding, I said yes then she never returned my calls or emails etc... Now here's the thing, I told her I didnt want to be in her wedding anymore but she insisted I stay in it. SO now I get an invite to her shower today, it is in two weeks very far upstate. I cant go because of the distance and the fact that I have to work the next day. I am going to send her a gift off her registry, do I ask if I can help pay for the shower too? I was not involved in any of the planning at all...So I dont know if I should offer money on top of a gift from her registry?

it doesn't sound like theyare expecting your help since you were not involved in any way of the planning. I say no - but I am sure many people would think otherwise. I think to be in a wedding party is an honor - if in fact you belong in it.

I have made so many efforts to keep in contact with this girl. It gets me so upset. I know she doesnt really have a lot of friends, which is why she wants me to still be in her wedding. But it is frustrating, I feel like such an idiot even being in her wedding.
