Bridal Shower question

I'm planning a bridal shower for my BFF, who is having a destination wedding. her MOH lives in Cali, so she can't do it. I am a BM.

The problem is I work weekends, so I was going to make the party at 6-7pm. I don't want to take a day off because I am already taking a whole week off for her wedding.

But I know most showers are in the afternoon. Is it wrong to make it at 6? I don't want people to not go just because of the time.

I think a shower is great at any time....a nice inimate dinner party or cocktail party would be fab!

I went to a Bridal Shower one time and they had it on a friday night, we had so much fun -- definitely better than any daytime ones I've been to
