bridal shower question

i am the maid of honor at my friends wedding on oct 4, 2003. Her sister is also the maid of honor.

My questions are:

Who hosts the shower me, mom or sister

when should we have it

how far in advance should we start planning?

( my mom did my whole shower, but her mom hasnt initiated anything with me yet so i dont know what to do.)

I would start planning it now. My bridal party did all the planning for the shower because my mom isn't a good planner. My mom paid like she was a BM and also picked up the bar tab (her friends that were there did drink a lot). I say you should probably start the process by initiating talks. If the wedding is in October I would have the shower Mid July to Mid August.
