I was just at my friends bridal shower this past Sunday. It was at Milk and Sugar and the theme was baking. It was really cute and the best bridal shower I've been to.
The prizes for the games were baskets of baking supplies and cake mixes, etc. The invites included recipe cards for guests to fill out for the bride.
It was a really cute idea. HTH.

My suggestion would probably really depend on the bride's and guests' personality. But you could a 'Parody of Kitsch' sort of thing. Ie. Ball & chains for the middle of tables, or something of that sort.

breakfast at tiffanys theme ....you can buy tiffany's boxes on ebay pretty cheap to decorate, pearls, sunglasses, long cigarette holders (like audrey hepburn wore in the movie)...stuff like that

Ooohhh...that could be fun... Let's see, some themes... Beach theme Love - anything that expresses love, lots of room for creativity
Wine Tasting -
Stock the Bar theme - FUN
Stock the kitchen - can include recipes, canned goods, household cleaners - Someone can decorate an Ironing Bd. Lady - fits well
Pajama Party
Jack N Jill - can have a Tool box for him / trash can for them as a wishing well and people can fill the tool box, etc.
Month of the Year - assign guests a specific month to bring a gift that coordinates with it...
One of my faves - Favorite Memories Party... you can have each guest decorate a scrapbook page for the bride and groom or bring a memento for a scrapbook or even write a fave memory of them together or their first meeting...
