The Tea Time Cottage in Riverhead is really cute! Maybe a little too far and small for a shower, but very cute.

I really want to be suprised, so I don't know about what kind of theme I want.

Well traditional weddings many many years ago didn't have themes either. But as time went by parties began to have themes, theme baby showers, theme weddings, etc....

now i want a theme shower I think my family is stuck in the past - as my friends like to say, it's basically 1952 in my parent's house lol - so none of the older generations ever threw themed anything. I could definitely go for a book themed party!

When I was MOH for my best friend's wedding, we threw her a book-themed shower. We had heart-topped bookmarks as favors, and book lights and B&N gift cards as game prizes. For centerpieces, we made 'books'--I googled romance novel covers, photoshopped her and her husband's faces on them, made titles and personalized synopses, and sized them to fit on a shirt box that we put on a rod. A different book for each table.

Themes make it a little more interesting and makes decorating a little easier I think.

I don't know what kind of theme I would want other then a vintage old fashioned like 1920's theme.

like a prohibition speakeasy kind of thing? my friend & her wife had their engagement party at jake's in manhattan that had that exact vibe...so fun.
