Re: Bridal shower themes
I told my mom I want a lucky elephant theme. I really have NO idea what that means - I collect elephants and want them there! I know we are going to do a brunch - because that's my favorite meal of the day - but other than that, I'm not sure yet!
Peace - I don't know what towns you are looking into but what about the Victorian Room in Bay Shore? You might want to check it out.

I eat at the public restaurant Milk and sugar all the time, it's 10 mins away from me. I heard good and bad things about it, but they are one of my places so far!.

Re: Bridal shower themes
I want no part in planning my Shower. I feel like the Wedding is enough and if I'm fortunate enough to be given a Shower, I hope it's a surprise and I will only give my opinions if asked.
My Mom and MOH have a good relationship, so I'm hoping I can be left out of it, unless they need my help.
I'm only doing a small registry, with a Honeymoon registry being the main focus. I realize that this makes for a strange shower environment, what with all the gift opening and stuff. Which is why I'd be okay if I didn't have a shower at all.

Oh! I was thinking the same thing! I'm going to have a lot of people at mine so I don't know if we'll find somewhere to accommodate us all (my mother already inquired about having something at old westbury gardens and we have too many people sadly) My other idea is having it somewhere by the water and have a nautical theme. I'm obsessed with all things nautical. My apartment is full of boats, lighthouses and seashells so I think it would be a cute idea!

I love that place! But it's really tiny. There's another tea place in RVC, but i've never been there before.

Look at the Victorian Room in Bay Shore. Its the same owners as Milk and Sugar which is a restaurant across the street. I would like to have mine there because i love that old fashioned victorian style but I can't pick where I have it because my sister and mom will be planning it but I have made the suggestion! lol

I feel sort of the same. My bridal party is coming from all over the state - and I feel like the wedding in and of itself is enough.
My MOH asked if - does this mean I get to plan a bachelorette? I'm excited that she wants to do that much, and I'm happy enough with that. After her bachelorette, something tells me I'm in for it (in a good way).

Re: Bridal shower themes
I'm pretty sure I never knew bridal showers were supposed to have themes lol. I have no ideas about what I'd want, but on the way home from AC today one of my BMs was so sweet - she asked me how I'd feel about surprises, as in showers, etc and I didn't know what to say. I've never had a surprise party or anything before and I thought it was really thoughtful that she asked.

Re: Bridal shower themes
I don't think that it is actually supposed to have a theme lol. I think it is just a fun thing to do. I doubt mine will actually have one because my mother would never do that haha
Throwing an idea out there for those who like wine lol. My cousin's BS last August had a wine theme..but it wasn't overly done. They had the place cards held in a wine cork, and the table names were wine names. And the centerpieces was a wine bottle with a candle coming out of it with a little grape leaves. That was the extent of the :theme'
