Bridal shower upset -With PollUPDATED

My cousin who made a big deal that I didnt ask her to be in the BP has not RSVP's for my shower this coming weekend. I have called her 3 times as well as my mom and SIL. I tricked her and called from my work phone and Finally got an answer.

She said shes waited to respond because she finally realized that she hates showers thinks they are the total waste of time and $$ and doesnt believe in them. But she'll come to mine.

Im a bit offended. I admit sometimes oohing and ahhing about a carrot peeler isnt the funniest but you get to hang out with your friends and loved ones. Isnt that what its about?? Not obligation.

UPDATE**** She called me back to ask if I would be mad and I obviously said yes and that I made her part of my ceremony because she means something to me. If she didnt want to come thats fine but I would be upset. After a talk about this and that shes got some issues that shes working thru and not being married or in a relationship was one of them. I guess it reminds her of how single and alone she feels. BUT we are all good now. Now to find her a single man to snap her out of it!!!

I personally can't stand going to showers... BUT once I'm there, haning out, drinking the champagne punch, chit-chatting, I usually have a good time.

That said... I would NEVER say that to a bride to be and if I were you, I would've told my cousin not to waste her time or your's.

wow im sorry..thats horrible and its family! she should definately go..thats not right at all..i admit i don't like showers that much either..but i go out of respect for the bride, and to hang with the girls..did you try talking to her about how much it would mean to you if she attend? I hope it works out

I don't LOVE showers... but I do like going to hang out with the girls... They can be a good time for a close friend or of course a close family member. I have been to so many bridal/ baby over the years it will be nice to have everyone around for mine whenever it's going to be
