bridal shower vent...
my wedding will be the first that my fam has celebrated since the 70s...
my cousins have all decided to elope or live w/their baby daddies..lol
anyway.. this makes it very difficult for my parents to understand what type of wedding we're planning. luckily, they have come a LONGGGG way and are now more familiar w/what to expect...
however...last night we went out to dinner and my mom suggested that we have my 'bridal shower' in the backyard ... which I dont mind bc she has a lot of space and its beautiful....but then she starts saying how we should have a dj and how we could all be dancing and the guys.... yes GUYS... i think she thinks a bridal shower is like a bachelorette party!??!?!?!? then she suggested my cousin should plan it...this is the cousin who warns me about getting married and who thinks weddings are overrated yet bullied herself into my bp...
anyway, then i said mom... a bridal shower is like a baby shower..ppl bring gifts for the bride and its usually women, maybe at a restaurant or home for a few hours.... i told her that my moh (also my bff) would be helping her and to listen to her ideas... she said why would ppl bring u gifts if u guys already live together?? and that bridal showers are boring... so now i'm really worried that my fam is going to be bridal shower clueless.........
