Bridal Shower Vent

I just found out that my mother called my MOH and had her change the date the Girls were planning for my Shower! Everything is being kept a surprise for the most part but apparently my Mom (who mind you goes away on retreats all the time!!) surprisingly had another 'Girl Power' Retreat to go to.
I am fed up with always coming 2nd in my Mom's life. She always puts herself first and always has! I love my Mother very much but I am sick of always being 2nd fiddle with both of my parents. Is it too much to ask for her to make it about someone other than herself for once????
Now, my MOH is trying to switch everything around with everyone's schedules. I feel bad for her having to do this. Especially when my Mom isn't even helping her.

Awww I'm sorry hun. I see what you are saying and agree with you. This should be about your special time in your life. Not your Mom's frequent trips.

I hope it all works out. Imo, and i'm not suggesting you do this, but if it were me I'd outright ask my mom, 'which one would you rather go to... your retreat your or daughter's bridal shower'?
