Laterna is a Greek restuarant on Bell Blvd., a few blocks up from Northern Blvd...excellent (& plentiful) food in your price range for a daytime event. My bridal shower and my SIL's baby shower were there and everyone had an excellent time both times. Definitely recommended.

Also, a lot of my DH's relatives were also coming from the Bronx and had no problem getting to Laterna.

There are a couple of nice place on Bell Blvd in Bayside btwn Northern and 35th ave.
There is even a Beni-Hana style place there too that might be fun

TJK Cafe in LIttle Neck -- $25 pp
Cascerinos's in Bayside is the pizzera/restuarant with upstairs
Burbon Street has a private room
Donovan's in Bayside has a back room
