Bridal shower..no suprise

I really didn't want my shower to be a suprise, since i know i'll get one anyway. So i am helping my mom and sister plan it. Its on August 27. I am so excited. Is that crazy? Did anyone else help plan their own shower.
I know more about weddings then they do, so i can give them great ideas. I'm not being a control freak...am i?

I know about my shower - not a big deal don't worry about it - I had to know because I have a crazy schedule and my FIL and MIL is actually hosting it -

my mOH is my sister and she is planning a huge BACH party for me - so I didn't want her overwhelmed plus most of the people attending are FH's family - which why they are hosting it..

I knew mine too. Im kind of a control freak also, but they really had no choice but to tell me. I work 7 days a week, so I had to take the weekend off. Plus my sister was planning it from Florida and none of the other BM's offered to help her, so I did. I just had my shower on sunday. The only thing that was a surprise was my gifts because I didnt check my registry !

ugh...I'd like to know about mine because I have ideas, but these two pains in the butts are determined to keep it a secret!!!

I didn't help plan mine, but I was glad it wasn't a surprise. Coordinating out of town friends travel plans would have been impossible without knowing. I was excited and it was so much fun anticipating the day!!! I think (for me) it added to my enjoyment. I'm not huge on surprises, though, and I usually figure them out ahead of time anyway

I planned mine too- but that’s because my mom didn’t know what to do and my BMs didn’t do anything either. I am not telling a lot of people so that my Mom could take the credit and say that she planned.

I know mine is August 14. I wanted to know. I helped a little with suggestions, ideas, toughts....but mostly my mom & sister are doing it. I did make the invitations though. I love that stuff.

Same for me, except I usually love surprises. I was so glad I wasn't surprised for this though, b/c I was dressed how I wanted to be, and had my hair and makeup nice. Plus, I live OOT, so I needed to know when to fly back to NY.

i know about when mine is. I am not big on surprises and it was tough coordinating everyones schedule. my mom wanted august, fmil usually goes away in aug and i was planning a little trip as well, so it was just easier for me to know. I also know the guest list and my mom calls me with updates on who is coming and who isnt because she is so excited lol..... she calls with the tally.... so far 49 yes and 15 no's, 30 something still outstanding lol with 2 weeks yet. she is a riot.

besides that, that is ALL i know..... my mom is planning so many great surprises, but that is all anyone will tell me

so for you guys who know, are you going to pretend its a surprise, or are you going to be there to greet guests hahahahaha thanks!
