Thanks to fellow 09'er: egem523 I found out this store, where I bought my dress, is closing down! I almost had a panic attack yesterday when i had to wait until TODAY to find out what was going on (they are closed on Mondays). The store did confirm they are closing down and that they are refunding deposits to girls getting married July, 09 and beyond. They are closing down Spring of 2009. I was assured by the owner that my dress will be in and I would be able to have my alterations done with them but I think I am going to take my dress and RUN once it arrives. I went as far as contacting Eve of Milady directly to confirm that my dress was being made. It is expected to arrive end of December/early January. If anyone bought their dress at this store, please be sure to contact them IMMEDIATELY. They have been very nice and calling all brides to inform them of whats been going on.

OMG I would have a heart attack, I agree that you should take ur dress once it comes in and have it altered elsewhere...god forbid something happens

Thank goodness you were able to find out your dress order is in tact!!! I would also go somewhere else for alterations once your dress comes in, to have a peace a mind.

I got my dress from them as well, also Eve of Milady. They called me on Friday to tell me about it. I am getting married July 09. However, my dress is in production and will be in in March. Now, I will have to go to bridal reflections in Manhattan to get my alterations. They would have refunded me for the alterations if I preferred. They were very nice about the whole thing, but when I first heard I was really alarmed.

i heard that, i live in SI, but i didnt want to spread a rumor if it wasnt true....that store hasn't been opened that long, it was only open a for a short time before i got engaged, maybe like 2 years? i wonder why they are closing, its a beautiful store

i live in staten island too and i did look there for my dress but i didn't find anything...i just heard last night from my friend that it was closing!

it is a shame bcuz it is a beautiful store and the staff is super nice. i was just so scared bcuz not too long ago i saw in the news about a bridal store in jersey that closed but didnt tell their customers anything and the brides were out of their dress and their money. but the owner of ny bridal couture seems very honest and really did put me at ease i will however be cautious and take my dress to another store for alterations once it comes in.
This happened to a bridal store in MD and brides were literally trying to break in. The store just went bankrupt and locked the doors. Thank god this place seems to have a plan.

Like i said before, i got my dress there too and i am also effected by this.... so my parents went in there to talk to them after hearing the news to decide what we wanted to do, and they said it is due to the economy they are closing. they said that they arent getting as many brides as they did when they first opened, as well as how many brides they expected to get. it is such a beautiful store so it really is a shame

hmmm....not sure, but i think this is the place that my reception hall sent out a letter a little while ago saying that they were dropping them as a vendor. Stay on top of them!

yea that store was nice - i didnt look there for my dress though - which i probably should have since i am having so many problems with demetrios - but i was surprised b/c it was def the nicest bridal salon on staten island
