Bridal Suite of Patchogue
I searched for info on this place - I'm going to hopefully look for a dress this weekend - and most of what I've read isn't good. Has anyone recently had experience with them? I'm planning on going to Paradise Bridals and since it was so close I thought I'd try there too - but I don't want to if all anyone has is horror stories.Thanks.

Re: Bridal Suite of Patchogue
I looked there in July. I didn't like them at all. I went with my sister and SIL. They helped me more than the woman did. She told me look around and pull out whatever I wanted to try on. There are a million dresses there.....so I had no clue where to start. She came back to see what I found and then disappeared for about 20 minutes to help another customer pick out jewlery. I was very annoyed that I was doing everything myself.I tried on alot of gowns, but I decided to leave. I didn't have a good feeling about the place.
I also have a friend who was in a wedding and when they went to pick up the gloves that went with their gowns, they didn't order the right color. This was 1 week before the wedding. The end result was that they didn't wear gloves. Bridal Suite told them that they wouldn't be able to get them for her in time for the wedding.
My opinion is not to go there.
You might want to try Bridal Suite in Centereach. I ordered my gown from them and they are very friendly and helpful.
Good Luck and Happy shopping!!

Re: Bridal Suite of Patchogue
There have been a number of negative posts about this place.Bridal Suite in Centereach is NOT owned by the same people. In fact, BS Centereach has signs up stating that because of the bad rep the other place has.

Yes, Bridal Suite in Centereach is not affiliated with Bridal Suite in Patchogue. I just got my dress at Bridal Suite in Centereach and Dealt with Debbie. I highly recomment them and dealing with her.

Re: Bridal Suite of Patchogue
I ordered my dress and my bridesmaids dresses there. While the service was good while I was there, finding out when my dress would be in was a pain. They would tell me it would be in in two weeks and two weeks later they'd tell me it wouldn't be in for another 2 weeks. Same thing for my bridesmaids dresses. Everything is in though. You really have to be on top of them 24/7. I have my first fitting on Tuesday and my girls have theirs on Saturday. I'll probably have more feedback then. If I had to order dresses again I'd go the Centereach Bridal Suite. My friend is getting married and they have been great. No problems at all.

Re: Bridal Suite of Patchogue
I bought my dress there, but I wouldn't recommend it. I didn't have any problems with my gown, but then I didn't need any altering, just my bustle. (I did have major trouble with my BM gowns from them.)It's a good place to look and try stuff on, becuase they do have a good selection. And the staff can be helpful, if it's not busy in the store. It's after you buy your gown that the problems start. The people are very nice but they are not very organized and they have more business than they can handle. On tuesdays and thursdays (the only days they do altering) it is crazy busy. If you use them, you just need to be careful and stay on top of your order.

Re: Bridal Suite of Patchogue
I looked there...twice. I definitely wouldn't recommend it. The first time we had an appointment and arrived on time, but there was no one to help us. My mom and sisters and I had to do it all by ourselves...every last bit. Then the only dressing room they had available had all of these new dresses in it & they wouldn't move them, so we had no room. They also did this very annoying thing -- they would turn off all the lights so a bride could be in a little spotlight when she was trying on the dress -- the problem was that they had to turn off ALL the lights, so as I was trying to get this 30 pound dress over my head, without the assistance of a bridal consultant, the lights would go out! The reason I went back the second time was that I was looking for a particular dress, which they claimed to have. Of course when I showed up they looked at me like I was crazy and they did not have the dress. I definitely wil not be returning for a third time!

Can anyone tell me what Debbie looks like at BS of Centereach? I got my dress and the girls dresses there and everyone says she is so nice but I haven't run into her, or I have and I don't know her name!

Re: Bridal Suite of Patchogue
Debbie has straight long blond hair. She is fantastic! She helped me with my dress and had made suggestions as to what I could do with my dress. I could not find a dress I liked that was sleeveless and had alot of work on it. So she showed me my dress which had short sleeves and said we could take them off. We just took them off 2 weeks ago and the dress is exactly what I had dreamed about. Another great thing about her is she is so friendly and always says hi when you go in even if she's busy.

Re: Bridal Suite of Patchogue
I would not recommend Patchogue Bridal Suite to anyone. While my initial experiences with them were excellent, it all went downhill once the dress was in. I have posted several times about the problems that I had. I am not a picky person at all, but the fact that they never hemmed my wedding gown prior to my final fitting was a major issue. I spent my wedding day tripping over the lining of my gown which was more than an inch longer than the rest of the gown. It looked horrible and I ended up ripping the netting inside. My MOH gown was never fully altered and the dress actually ripped where they had done the alterations. When I looked at it afterward I realized that they had only hand basted the seams, they were never machine sewn. When I went to pick up her dress 2 days before the wedding it was even finished! The beading was hanging off one shoulder and the dress wasn't ironed. They also overcharged on the alterations for her dress, although I did realize it and was finally given a credit toward my alterations, but only after speaking to the owner. There was more, but that's enough. I would not go there again.

Re: Bridal Suite of Patchogue
Kelswiss,That is like the way Debbie was with me. I wanted a strapless dress with some sparkle on it but the ones with sparkle never looked right so we got one we loved and added a little sparkle to it. She spent so much time with me with adding to the dress. At my last fitting it was her vacation week and she actually came in for an hour to make sure everything went well. She is a gem.

Re: Bridal Suite of Patchogue
If you are looking for a great bridal shop try Paradise Bridal. They are a few doors down from Bridal Suite. I bought my dress there and my girls dresses and it has been a wonderful experience. A few of my other friends have dealt with them and none of us have a bad thing to say. Their dress selection is great and will do anything for you. This woman Donna helped me with my dress and she was great.....I bought the first dress she put on me!Good luck!

Re: Bridal Suite of Patchogue
Thanks everyone. I'm going to Paradise Bridal anyway so maybe if we have extra time to kill I'll stop in just to look if they're not too busy. Sounds like getting it there is a bad idea though. I appreciate your help.

I had a wonderful experience with Bridal Suite in Patchogue. I worked with Lee, she was excellent. Christina did my alterations and was very helpful with having my Maid of honor practice doing the bustle.

Re: Bridal Suite of Patchogue
i went to bridal suite in Patchogue, the place was ok, but to busy, the woman who was helping us kept dissapearing. I have heard to many complaints from co-workers and friends, about how busy they are. One co-worker picked up the brides maids dresses and they had stains on them.I put a deposit on mine at Centereach bridal the place was busy but i had very personalized service. I delt w/dolores. I am sure I could find my dress cheaper, but I do not want to give up the service. I have a co-worker getting married in May. Her dress came in, and she needs very minor alterations. Just a little tuck on top...she loves them...

I just wanted to mention that I had a horrible experience with Paradise Bridal in Patchouge. (If you do a search, you'll find my original post about it). I have filed a complaint with the BBB about them.

I also just purchased my dress at Bridal Suite in Centereach. I delt with Jackie and she was wonderful and extremely helpful! They had a nice selection of dress and also have many bridesmaids dress. They were flexible with the price of my gown and we talked them down. Also, they are willing to come down on the BM dress's i liked too. I highly recommend them

Re: Bridal Suite of Patchogue
Cormican,I ordered my veil headpiece from Lee at Bridal Suite - so far, so good. I can only tell you guys that since it is a headpiece it is not nearly as traumatic as a dress (assuming something were to go wrong) but so far have had no problems.
