Bridal Suite - Patchogue -vs- Commack Wedding Center
I am in love with a dress from Casablanca Bridal, and these are the two stores closest to me that carry that designer (there are only a few that do carry them). I have heard the Bridal Suite can be horrible, but I have also heard that the Commack Wedding Center has no cap on alterations, and I am going to order extra material for sleeves to be put on the dress. Any thoughts or suggestions from anyone who has used these two shops would be so helpful in making a final decision. Please help !!

I have heard bad stuff about both places. Why don't you try Burton's on route 110 in Huntington/Melville (right by the Walt Whitman Mall)? They will order any dress for you and you'll save a bunch. They will also give you a headpiece of your choice for free. They are so great there - I have heard nothing but great things about them on the boards and I ordered my dress from them a few months ago.

I have heard negative about both places too. Like the above post said you can have another place order your dress. I am using Bridal Suite in Centereach.

Ask another shop to get you the gown
Try the gown on in either place, then order it from a more reputable place. I got my gown at Bridal Suite in Centereach- no relation to the one in Patchogue at all. They did not have the sample gown but ordered it for me anyway. And they have a cap on alterations. But I will tell you that adding sleeves is not considered part of any shop's alteration cap. That is custom work and will cost you more money no matter where you go.
I have heard mixed reviews on Wedding Center and really bad stuff about Patchogue so I would not go to either.

I ordered my Casablanca from Bridal Suite
DecBride...I ordered my dress from Patchogue's Bridal Suite. I have had wonderful service so far and my friend whos getting married in Oct says the same thing. I know some people have has issues with the store but I think someone will always have a bad expereince with anything...its bound to happen. I fell in love with a Casablanca too and just had to get it there. ASk for Tracey she helped me and was wonderful.

Thanks for the information re: Casablance and the Bridal Suite in Patchogue. If you don't mind me asking, how long did it take for them to get in your gown, and do they have caps on alterations? It is so good to hear of someone ordering the same designer from the same shop who has had a good experience !!

My BAD experience with Patchogue Bridal Suite
I also used Patchogue Bridal Suite. In the beginning I raved about them. They stored my dress for me for over a year at no charge and all of my experiences with them were wonderful. However, after my complete experience with them, my only advice is to stay away. I was overcharged by more than $65 on the alterations to my daughter's maid of honor gown and had I not questioned the owner about it I never would have seen it. When I went for my final fitting on my gown they made me wait more than 2 hours and then I discovered the gown had never been hemmed. There was no time for me to try the dress again before picking it up and the day of my wedding I spent tripping over the lining because it had not been hemmed enough. I ended up ripping it almost in half when I tripped while dancing with my husband. My daughters dress had not been pressed when I went to pick that up and I had to wait for it. I then checked and discovered that the beading was hanging off the shoulder of the dress and needed to be sewed back on. They sewed it quickly and I never had a chance to check it again. The day of my wedding her dress ripped where it had been altered and we discovered that they had only basted it together! There were several other incidents that I had with them, and every time I was there I heard people complaining that they were having problems. I would definately go elsewhere.
