'Bride Doll' for shower???

'Bride Doll' for shower???

Hi all. My sister is having her shower in March and my grandma asked me to get her a bride doll for the table. Did any of you ladies have a bride doll and do you know where I can get one?

It has to be blonde, and preferable wearing a strapless dress. I was thinking of doing one of those special edition barbies but that seems weird.

Can anyone help me?

Hmm....the closet thing I have ever seen to that was a silouhette of a bridal corset. I saw it at Rojays party store.

Well, I know she wants one for her to keep, not rent. I've found some amazing ones on E-bay for like $200. I know my grandma is on a budget, but I may just get one of those and tell her it was only $40. I don't mind eating the cost because I think it is something my sister would really love.

it's kinda like this
but i'll take a pic of it later for you

Thanks, but I am looking for an actual doll, with blonde hair. There are limited edition barbies wearing dresses from Vera Wang or Bob Mackie that I might get. But right now I am looking for a porcelain doll wearing a cloth dress

This is such a great idea. I just googled wedding barbie and came up with many limited editions dolls. Perfect theme for a shower. A different doll at each table.

Wow!! Bridal Dolls were big in the '80's. I havent seen them around in years. I guess you can get a wedding barbie. I think I saw a Precious Moments Bride and Groom Dolls somewhere. I will try to rack my brain and remember where.

Maybe it is outdated - my grandma kept saying she got one for my aunt when my uncle got married - which was 1991.

Anyway, she wants to get one for my sister now, and I know my cousin had a doll from her grandma at her shower last year.

I don't think I can afford to get one for each table, just one for the bride's table.

I found a nice one on E-bay that is perfect. I hope I win. 2 days left of the auction.

otherwise I will have to get a wedding barbie.

Yeah, that doll is great. But I think grandma wanted something fancy and porcelin. I might get that doll for the bride cake though. I am trying to make it myself...and have the cake be the dress part.

michales sells doll 1/2 bodies that you just suck in the cake. it's much easier and less messy when you pur it together

Just a little update - thanks ladies for all the help. I found one at The Franklin Mint that is perfect.

There was one on E-bay that was absolutely BEAUTIFUL but it would have been around $300. If I thought my sister would know the difference I would have gotten it for her. But she doesn't collect anything and I don't think she would have realized how valuable it was.
