Bride on a Budget in Search of a Barn Like Venue

Hi All,

Newly engaged bride here in search of a unique budget friendly venue. I'm really into the barn look like the Old Field Club, Hallockville Farm and other similar venues. Any venue suggestions and/or quotes you can share would be greatly appreciated!

I am also thinking about venues that are more DIY like The Bate's House or The Neighborhood House in Setauket. Has anyone priced out a reception in a venue of the sort. Is it cost affective?

Please share, any help is appreciated! Thanks in advance!

I agree with Jordan, we originally wanted a barn type venue but once we cost it out, it wasn't worth all the time and extra work. They are so beautiful, but not budget friendly

It is definitely not a budget friendly route. You end up having to hire a wedding planner to coordinate all the millions of vendors involved when everything from chairs and silverware to food and linens need to be brought in.

And because barns that actually rent out for weddings are few and far between around here, the ones that do charge a high premium as a site fee.

Totally agree - it is not budget friendly. It cost a fortune because you really need to bring in EVERYTHING. There are a lot of venues that offer all inclusive packages that are much cheaper and you can DIY the decorations at least. Try any Lessings location...some of their locations they offer all inclusive packages!

Thank you for your help! I've been poking around and it unless you're willing to go SUPER low budget with folding chairs and tables it's totally NOT budget friendly. I am checking out Vanderbilt Mansion, which is Lessings. Wish me luck!

Siiiiiigh. I soooo wanted Hallockville but like everyone else has said, we just couldn't swing it once you factor in all the rentals. (Also, it's a pretty small space).

Our alternative wound up being Riviera in Massapequa. You still get a rustic look and feel, but with the organization of an actual know-what-they're-doing catering hall. I got married 10/24 and it was amazing! Feel free to ask me any questions- I'll tell you whatever I can :o)

When are you checking them out/if you did already how did it go? We had already booked Mansion at West Sayville when they announced weddings would be happening there again, so it was one place I wish we could have looked into.
