Bride-zilla on Z-100 this morning

Original post by Mrs. dleeny

OMG! I cannot believe what I was hearing this morning on the way to work!!

This bride to be calls up the Z morning Zoo and tells them that she’s getting married in a few weeks so everything is pretty much done.

One of her friends and bride’s maids has recently put on a lot of weight due to emotional problems in her life. So this B2B wants her out of the wedding party because she is too fat and will ruin her pics. CAN YOU BELIEVE THAT??! What a b*tch!!

I hope she has a flood of rain on her wedding day. I would never normally wish such a thing on anyone, but she isn’t human. How can anyone be so insensitive?? If her friend has emotional problems now, how do you think she will take that kind of news?

Thoughts?

Although hey - can we wish something else bad for her? Some of us are going to get crappy weather and it stinks - and these are nice and loving brides! (I'm thinking of some nice brides getting married this weekend for instance . . . ) How about that her big fancy day that is all about her is a big flop - because with that attitude it will be.

I think it was a re-run b/c they are on vacation this week. I was shocked too and I thought, 'well, if you wanted the day to be all about you, why did you even HAVE bridesmaids? Why not just focus all of the attention on you in the photos and not have a big 'blob' on the side distracting people?' It was a disgrace.

I also loved how when someone called in and said, 'well, what if you gained weight?' and she said 'I would never allow that to happen to me...' I hope she isn't planning on having any children.

sorry, you're right. I hope her dress gets red wine spilled all over it and the unity candle burns her hair.

I was appaled when I heard her this morning. I think the best punishment would be for her to be in her BM's position...a women that gained weight...Maybe she eats something with too much MSG and retains 20 1 liter bottles of water or gets stung by a bee and blows up to 3x's her size! For one day live life in her BM's shoes. Not that it's bad but just that she views it as bad. Ignorant people!

that is horrible!!

How can you do that to someone who you love and asked to be in your wedding. If you asked them to be in it, obviously they are important to you and their weight shouldn't even be an issue.

I for one am hoping my sister gains weight, I want another neice or newphew and I think a pregnant belly is so cute in a bridesmaid gown, lol!

I guess some people want everyone's life to stop until their wedding is over.

It is really sad that someone would actually feel that way. Makes you wonder what they consider friendship to be.

If i was the bridesmaid I wouldn't even go to the wedding. I wouldn't even be friends with her anymore.

That is just plain disgusting...I asked my girls to be BM's because I love them and they have all been there for me, not because I thought they would look the best in pictures...

What's worse is she just couldn't see what she was doing was wrong. That's what so sad. The DJs kept saying - what about your friend, and she was like, what about me? How completely self-centered.

I like that wine spilling.

This self centered person, obviously doesn't care about her friends being there with her on 'HER' special day. She's just worried about how her pictures are going to look. I hope her photographer shows up.

a co-worked told me about this and I couldn't believe it! (ok, I could, but come on--could anyone be that cruel and insensitive?!?)

My thoughts were 1) how does this girl actually HAVE any friends?? 2) Who is the poor b*stard who's marrying her 3) If the friend is lucky, she'll actually figure out the truth about this bride and get her out of her life immediately!!

Ugh.

I can not believe that someone could be so shallow!!!!

I have 3 of my 6 bridesmaids who could be pregnant at my wedding. Plus I have others who struggle with their weight. I would NEVER dream of asking them to step down!!!

I chose my BMs because they are all special and beautiful people to me.....no matter what they look like on the outside.

Speaking as someone who used to weigh 260 pounds at a size 24, I am appalled that someone would treat a person that way. I am now 147 pounds and a size 10 but I am very sensitive to people who are heavy. The scars of childhood taunting and the endless looks of scorn and mockery as an obese adult are still there. Sometimes I even feel like a fat girl in a thin girl's body - something that many may not understand.

That being said, I wouldnt care if my best friend weighed 400 pounds. She is still my best friend. I am having three adults and two teens in my bridal party. My MOH is about a size 14/16 and quite self conscious about her weight. I asked her straight out what style of dress would make her most comfortable. After gathering her specs on a dress, I have been searching for something that she would like as well as that would look good on all of the other ladies too.

THIS is what a friend means to me and being a good friend, is not about what someone looks like. It is not about the pictures looking 'just right'. It is about honor and respect and accepting someone for who they are. I was never felt accepted in society until I was thin. People treated me very different as a fat person than they do now as a thin person. I could be here for hours comparing my experiences. Like it or not, the real world is cruel to overweight people. This person (the bridesmaid) does not need a person in her life to point out her shortcomings. I am sure she is plenty aware. As for the bride, what comes around goes around. She will get hers in the end! I can bet on it. Shame on her!

Well said Goldi!

I don't know what to say...I'm glad I didn't hear it this morning or else I probably would have called up and BlTCHED her out! That's repulsive!! She doesn't deserve friends. SHlT happens...what if she gets pregnant and gains 50 lbs. Does that mean her FH should dump her??? Once again I must say REPULSIVE!!!

I'm not surprised. There have been tons of of posts like that on this site....not necessarily asking the BM's of MOH to step down due to weight gain either but pregnancy too

Yes, so true.
