Brides, a word of advice

Brides, a word of advice

About the Music at your wedding.

Please make sure your Band or DJ is a professional wedding one.
I went to a beautiful wedding and the DJ was a friend's brother hired by the bride. He played great music, but he didn't know anything about the order of a reception. He bypassed the TOAST
Someone had to tell him to stop the music so the BM could make his toast. For the bo-k and garter toss, he didnt realize the man who caught the garter had to put it on the woman's leg. Someone had to tell him that AFTER he started playing more music.
There were many moments of silence as you could tell he was trying to think of what he should do next.
He didn't ruin her wedding, but his mistakes were very obvious and people were talking.

So just make sure you get someone who knows what they are doing when you try to save a buck or two by hiring a non-professional.
Good Luck and Happy Planning

Yes, this is important because I almost did this. My cousin recommend his friend who was a DJ. He was only going to charge me $500. The I come to find out that he has never done a wedding, only parties and a few christenings and graduations. I explained to him that I wanted to go with someone more experienced with weddings and hired my site vendor who i have seen DJ at weddings a million times!

Christine, I think that's what she paid too, either 500 or 600.
I warned her about these things, but she didn't listen to me and it really backfired
