Brides getting married at noon ??

How is the wording on your invitation? I didn't realize we picked such a confusing time for the ceremony!!

1) 'at twelve o'clock in the afternoon'

2) 'at twelve noon'

3) 'at twelve o'clock'

4) 'at noon'

you can always avoid the problem altogether by putting a slightly earlier arrival time for your guests on the invitation. (eleven forty-five in the morning).

I'm getting married at 1, but I'm writing twelve forty-five in the afternoon on my invitation... but that's a personal preference. I want to give a little leighway for slightly late guests so they're not walking in with me or after the ceremony starts. Plus we're having a string trio that will be starting playing at 12:30.

Otherwise, I'm sorry... I don't know the answer to your original question.

1 is likely the more 'proper' wording.

This is how another bride wrote it in another thread:

promptly at twelve o’clock in the afternoon

I second this. Remember, if you put 12 on your invitations, you're really not going to be able to get started before 12:15 (if you're lucky) unless you want people wandering in throughout the ceremony.

Our hall does a half hour champagne hospitality before the ceremony for just this reason - it allows for a cushion for people to arrive in, so that we can start on time without as many people trickling in late.
