Any brides getting married outside AND doing the unity candle ceremony? What are you using to make sure the wind doesn't blow out the candles? I can't find a hurricane lamp I love. Anyone have ideas?

We're doing the unity candle, I'm not really concerned about the wind in June. I figure if its windy and the flame blows out, oh well life goes on. I know the true flame, within us, will still be burning!

I am doing mine outside in April, if it blows out, it blows out, what can ya do?

We got married outside on October 30th...the flame didn't go out at all....

we're doing a sand ceremony too.
the sand ceremony is when you have two vases filled with sand and you each have a color. (like the bride gets white, and groom black) you each pour the two colors into an empty vase and it makes a pretty design and there is a poem that's read during the ceremony....if you do a search for sand ceremony you'll find out all about it in BHB

thank you so much My FH has 3 children and I have 1, (they're all going to be a part of the bridal party) so we are looking for something to unite the family as well. . . thinking maybe that could work as well as the unity candle for our situation. . . interesting. . . thanks!

Although a bit cheesey, Cin - I agree. I actually didn't even think about the wind, but I'm sure it'll be fine!
