Brides having small weddings - a ?

We're only having 120 people. We invited over 150, and I just got another no today. I thought I wanted a small wedding, but now I'm not so sure. I feel like that's a really small affair. I mean, it's the biggest day of my life, I spent a year and a half planning it, and I feel like now no one will be there to see it. Anyone else feel like this? Is is this PMS and wedding jitters?

I feel the same way. Originally we were only inviting 80 now its up to 130. But it will be beautiful no matter what.

i know exactly how you feel, except its worse over here! We invited around 150 and have only 85 coming! I thought we would have at least 100, but what are you gonna do. I felt bad for fh cuz it was a lot of his extended family and friends that can't make it. But doing the seating arrangements, we still have 10 tables, and i think its going to be great!

We are only having 75. It doesnt matter how many people are there to see it as long as there are people there that love you.

We are also having a small wedding, invited about 150 people and having about 100 come. It will be great no matter what!!

120 is a lot of people!

We're probably going to have somewhere near 300..honestly, I don't know half of the these people. I'd much rather an intimate affair with close friends and family. But, I have a huge extended family and friends of my parents and blah blah.

Your day will still be amazing..as long as you, fh and your families, close friends are together.

awww

we are inviting about 150 and hoping for 125- it will be an intimate wedding & I'm ok with that

its all about quality not quantity- never matters the size of the wedding- its about the emotions & the love with you & your fh..

dont worry you're day will be perfect

I know I'm lucky - I have terrific friends and a small but close family. And all along I wanted a tiny, intimate affair (I kept trying to talk FH into eloping, lol). Don't know where this sudden disappointment is coming from.

i think thats a fine size wedding, whats important is that the ones you love are there to share in your expression of love, large or small doesnt matter.....

I totally understand what you are saying. I have just about the same amount of people as you. But honestly, 120 is a lot of people. And I am sure those are your favorite 120 people, and those that really love you. I feel good about have 120 because that is all we can afford!!!

that is alot of people!! Besides I am hoping for my final count to be 150.. You only need the closest people with you. Thats my opinion anyway.

You can have more time on your day with FH

I invited 130 and 75 people came. I was VERY upset for a long time about it, but i have to tell you that I enjoyed my day more than I could explain to you.

The crowd size was PERFECT for chatting with everyone and i didn't feel completely overwhelmed most of the time.

I finally came to be okay with it when i sat down and thought about how all of the people who DID come were the ones who cared about us the most and that made me VERY happy.

that is so true jess- my sisters wedding was very intimate like that I am coming into the same situation where I invited almost 140 people and as of now almost 80 are coming it is a little upsetting but it is something I will get over trust me!

i think thats a lot of people! we originally invited around 140, i will be content with 80 people but think about talking to 120 people, thats a lot! You will remember much more about your guests in quality with a smaller quantity...

we did a small wedding too we invited 147 and we had 124 come, and honestly it was the perfect amount of people for us, i am kinda glad that not everyone showed, our tables did range we had anywhere from 7 to 10 people at a table.

i think of it this way, less people at the wedding, less things to go wrong

only 120 people. That is a lot of people we originally thought 90 and now will have about 130-140. To me that is a big wedding. No matter how many people attend remmeber that your day will be wonder & special !! Enjoy it.

I think 120 is alot! But i know what you mean. I invited 245 and only have 160 coming. Not that 160 is small by any means, i think its huge. I guess i just expected more so its a little disappointing. Honestly though, it doesnt matter the size of the wedding - it matters that the people most important to you are there to celebrate with you. Your wedding will be beautiful!

I don't think 120 is a small wedding at all. I usually think of under 100 being a smaller affair. FH and I had actually hoped to keep our guest count at 125, but it looks like we will end up closer to 150. I understand how maybe you would've liked to have more people because I myself probably would've gotten to around 250 if I could, but it's such a huge expense for that many people. As long as your loved ones are there, that's what matters.

I'm sure it's going to be great!
