Brides paying for their own weddings.... question about parent albums

if you paid for most of your wedding, including the photographer, did you buy albums for your parents?

we're getting the parent albums.

i don't have the time, energy or creativity to create my own. it's one thing i don't mind paying someone else to do.

We are paying for our entire wedding too, but we are getting parent albums.

I am going to make my own albums from Snapfish or Kodak instead of paying an extra $1500 for parents albums.

We are doing them on our own

Probably using www.photoworks.com

This one was about $50 with shipping (and with 112 photos used - 28 pages/sides)















We may use imagestation.com

This one was like $25 with 20 sides (10 pages)






Either way, we are not paying $600 each for parent albums - especially since the aunts want them too

We paid for about 75% of our wedding and got them albums. I had it included in our price when we negotiated with the photographer.


ditto. we also were able to get a third parent album since my parents are divorced. whether they paid or helped or not, they are still our parents and deserve something for putting up with us all these years!

We're not sure yet what we're gonna do. Our parents are helping but we're still paying for a lot. We get 3 DVDs with pictures on them and I think my mom might be happy with just that b/c she's really into photoshop, etc. (we have 3 sets of parents)
We're thinking of doing some of the online photoalbums for anyone who wants them...depending on $$ after the wedding we will decide on what to do as far as nicer parents albums..the ones our photographer offers are more reasonable but still more than the online ones.

We paid for our wedding 100% ourselves. Our parent albums were included in our package.

WE ARE PAYING FOR 100% OF THE WEDDING. WE OPTED FOR WALL PORFOLIOS FOR BOTH MOTHERS.

I think that if either set of parents want to add to the album, then they can pay for the extra shots.
But, the basic album, FH and i will pay for.

FH and I are paying for the entire Wedding and yes we are getting albums for our parents.
Personally, to me one thing has nothing to do with the other. I know if our parents could pay for it, they would.

We are paying for about 75% of our wedding and we are getting our parents albums. We originally planned to go the internet publishing route, but after seeing the professional albums, we decided to go with them. Plus, we were able to negotiate with our photographer. If the parents want to add more pictures to their books, they will have to pay for that.

we didnt get albums....we have 4 set of parents. WE get our negatives and proofs we decided to get a book made by shutterfly or other websites for them...We told them they can buy on their own but they are like 600-700

Needless to say I am sure they will be happy with the album we get made or them for much much less



I am doing something similar. I will have 'digital' photos and plan on doing my own albums at Shutterfly.

We paid for everything and we made sure to pick a package that included 2 parent albums for both sets of parents.

we did pay for the parents albums but let them know if they want more photos they would have to pay for anything additional. We paid for 75% of the wedding ourselves, including photographer.

We are going to make them the coffee table books through Shutterfly.
My parents are paying for the reception, so we will most likely also buy them something else, too.
