Brides taking FH's last name...

...have you started practicing signing your new name? I've tried, and it looks sooooooo plain! lolol

I love FH's last name. I get rid of 5 letters and 2 syllables....I'm thrilled.

I have signed my name and I love how it looks~

I do when I'm in meetings at work and bored. I get extra letters, but it's not too bad.

I just added a swish and a dot to add Jim into my name.

Heck I didn't even drop my middle initial!!!

Thats the best part for me. Mine is 7 letters now, and gets cut down to 4.
From 3 syllables to 1.

I've been doing it (a lot when I was studying for the bar ) and I think it actually looks better than my current last name. THe only thing that bothers me is that both my first name and last name will be ending in '-er.' So, I may just have to start going by Jenn all the time because I can't have a rhyming name. I just can't.

LOL yea i will...but its soo funny hes work email had to be shortened cuz the name was soo long...and everyone is ALWAYS pronouncing it wrong...and everyone i know loves my last name...its going to be so hard to give it up...
so i decided since I dont have a middle name...I will give myself a middle name using my maiden name lol fh says i'm crazy...i said stop laughing our kids are having the same middle name...he said i'm crazy...i said ok if we have girl she'll have it ..not the boy? haven't gotten an answer yet

I have, but i don't like writing H's in cursive for some reason - i think they look dumb! I'm so happy to be moving up in the alphabet! No more Z! Yay!

OMG, I have a funny story. When FH & I opened out joint savings account for the wedding we were talking to the customer service representative about women changing their name and how in a 16 months (back then) I'll be Mrs. XXXX. While while we are talking about this I had to sign papers and I signed Lisa XXXX (FH's last name) ... I felt like such an idiot!!!

The lady was so nice though. She said - just cross it out and resign and not to jump the gun!
