Brides that are married.........

Did you have a DOC? Is it worth? What's the job of the bridal attendant & maitre D then? I'm so confused.

I didn't. Maitre D and Bridal Attendant made sure everything went like it was supposed to. Thats what there job is. I think if you are having a very huge wedding than its worth it so they oversee everything. But i didn't, so it would have been a waste of money in my eyes.

Re: Brides that are married.........

i had one and if i had to do it all over again i definitely would have hired her again. i dont know what your day plan is like, but for me, we did pictures before our church ceremony and then headed over to the reception hall for the reception. she coordinated everything from 11am (when the flowers got delivered at my house) to 9pm (when dinner was served at the RH). we had a couple of minor issues with the florist (they forgot some things at the store so my DOC made sure they went back to get them so we would have it before pictures -e.g. my dad's boot and my FG's flowers).

then once we were at the RH, i had an issue with the banquet dept about payment for the people at the wedding (we had a few people show up that we didnt think were coming and we had to settle the balance). she took care of that for me. she also made sure everything looked great in the room before my guests were brought in - there were issues - i specifically didnt want champange poured before my guests entered, and when she checked the room, champagne was already poured at 2 of the tables. she fixed it. little things like that.

i think a DOC is really necessary because they are YOUR advocate. as much as a BA and MD are there for 'you' at the end of the day, they work for the RH, so they're doing what they'er supposed to do for the RH. my BA and MD were great, but after my DOC left at 9pm, there wasn't much left for them to do except pack up all my stuff.

HTH

i used Leane from Above & Beyond Events and I would HIGHLY recommend her to ANYONE looking for the DOC.

ETA: she also went to the church tied on all my pew bows, set up everything the way i wanted it to look, etc.

I had a small wedding (less than 100 guests) but the logistics of getting everything done in time was key for me. We did church, pictures then reception. My DOC had a copy of my floorplan and when she checked the room at the hall, it wasn't the same. So she made sure it was changed before we got there. She was my voice and if I had to do it all over again, I would definitely use a DOC.

I used Danielle from Simply Couture. She not only was my voice of reason during planning but she definitely made sure I had a wonderful day.

I didn't have one. I had 8 bridesmaids and 275 people attended my wedding, so it wasn't a small affair by any means. Everything was pretty under control. I had to crack the whip sometimes, but it wasn't like I had my head in notebooks looking up contracts and phone #'s. I couldn't see the point in spending the extra $$. Just my 2 cents.

I used A Modern Day Affair and am so happy that I decided to have a DOC(You actually get 2 with AMDA). We had a tight time schedule in the morning and they made sure everyone was where they were supposed to be (getting 13 people to the picture location before the ceremony) and they also made sure my RH room was set up the way it was supposed to be (which was a major concern for me because I didn't have traditional centerpieces). Plus they took care of lots of other 'little' things througout the day. My day could not have gone any more smoothly and I was so happy to not have to worry about things that I though might be a problem. I would definitely recommend a DOC and especially AMDA

I didn't have one. I felt like everything fell in to place with the maitre D and bridal attendant there.

We didnt have one with our bit wedding but I wish I did. Our MD and BA were great but their job is just to worry about the hall, not so much everything you've even wanted from your other vendors. Our photographer was a NIGHTMARE and a DOC would have def come in handy with dealing with him. There were some problems throughout the day/night that I didn't know about until after the fact but am sad that my dad had to deal with all that cr*p and run around and totally missed the cocktail hour (which we pretty much did for him with cigars and only the food that he can eat - he's allergic to mushrooms)

i had a wedding with 205 people and no DOC and i would say i definitely did not need one. Our maitre'd and bridal attendant took care of us and everything was perfect. it would have been a complete waste of money for us to have one...im glad DH let me hire one bc i really wanted one!

Your M'D is really to attend to your guest and the wait staff. Your BA is to attend to you the day of. Your DOC knows how you want everything from the inside out. Your M'D and BA don't since you only meet with them a handful of times.

With my DOC I went how I wanted everything to go from top to bottom and set up and they made sure that it was executed. If a last minute crisis happens or you need a timeline or your vendors confirmed they are there to do that. They are there before during and after...not just that day.

I'd hire Cheeky Glam all over again. My mom who likes to be in control was even able to let loose and enjoy the WHOLE wedding which was important to me.

I didn't have a DOC. I was pretty on top of everything before hand and didn't feel i needed the extra support. The day of everything was perfect. You have the maitre'd and BA to help you so it's always covered.

I won a wonderful coordinater...so glad we did because we had some hiccups that she fixed in a flash. My MD and BA did an awesome job as well.

I had one and I am so glad I did because so many things went on that were out of the hands of my bridal attendant and maitre d. We had a non house bakery and my $1000 cake almost fell apart because I had high tiers and it was so hot. I forgot my second wedding band for my vacation at home and one of my doc ran back to get it while I was at the church. And they ran interference when it came to my family and found spots for the people that said no and still showed up. Sometime things happen and they are like security blanket.

Re: Brides that are married.........

We used Cheeky Glam- and they saved me a million times over-
the trailer I posted earlier exists purely because of them- they got me out of a bad deal with a terrible vendor and replaced my video with Orange Films with ONE WEEK TO GO -
they hit the books and found me a reputable vendor who was FREE on my day and everything I was looking for.

They did the time line- kept everyone in check- paid all the vendors for me- sent me envelopes to put final payments and tips in-
told me how much to tip-
were at my BECK AND CALL for months on end- emailing and texting daily-
they basically kept me from killing myself at times and I am now proud to call them friends.

I would trust these two with MY LIFE.
period.

One meeting and you'll be hooked.

We didn't have one, and I regret it.

We had so many little issues- from having the guest constantly in and out of the bridal suite because the door didn't lock, to my grandfather tripping and not being able to locate the owners to speak to them right after the incident. It definitely would be something I would book if I could do it over again
