Brides That Did or Doing Wine Favors- Where did you get your wine? Also is Red or White Wine Better?

Hiyas all,

As most of you know I decided last week to do wine favors (full bottle).

FH and I are having a hard time finding a wine that is in our price range ($4-$5 per bottle) and nobody in our area wants to discount since we're planning on getting like 125 bottles...I told FH I refuse to pay $7-$8 per bottle where I know I can do better on LI or the general area.

Anyone have any ideas on where to go (general location of the store would be great) and also how much you paid for the wine.

Also is red or white wine better to give?

TIA, Danielle

for my e-party i did wine favors...i bought the big 750ml bottles of pinot grigio for $4.50...did you talk to anyone at the local liquor store? dont go by the price you see on the bottles...if you tell them you're buying a large quantity they will work with you...I told them how many i needed and they gave me the price of $4.50

I got mine in queens so not sure if youre willing to buy it from here, if so FM me...otherwise talk to ppl at your local liquor stores

We are doing both red and white. Check out Cappy's on E. Merrick Road in Valley Stream. They are right across the street from the NEFCU (Nassau Educators Federal Credit Union). They have lots of great priced wine.

FH just went to like two local liquor stores- both weren't willing to negotiate on anything but the small bottles.

Queens is doable for me (I live in Far Rockaway) and I know that for a good deal that FH will travel.

Btw you got FM

Check out Bottles and Cases in Huntington. You can find many wines in your range. I'm doing Pindar Summer Blush and it is less than $5 per bottle there.

Trader Joes too... you cant beat the price. Only downfall is that you have to go to the one in the city. .. there isnt any trader joes that sell alcohol on Long island :(
