Did you have a practice session? My photographer suggested one, but I'm not sure if we need to do this. He wanted to wait until it got close to our date for me to meet with the photographer that he assigned for me. I asked him to schedule it in advance since we live and work in the city and he's in Suffolk. Now we're having a scheduling conflict for next week (a few days before my wedding), and I might not meet with my photographer until that day!!!
Should I be worrying about this??

Re: Brides who did not take engagement pics
I didn't have a photo shoot. I met with my photographer about 9 months ago when I booked him, and will not see him again until my wedding day. To tell you the truth I hadn't even thought about it so I'm not worried about it at all. Yopu shouldn't either! Everything will work out great!!

Nina... we have the same photographer studio so I thought I would comment.
We DID take engagement photos and Mark still recommends we come in before hand. If you can't do it, then don't stress about it but if you can schedule it, it might be worthwhile since this is a service for you to get comfortable in front of the camera and with your photographer.
Why don't you ask Mark if he can schedule it a few weeks before so its more doable for your schedule?

Re: Brides who did not take engagement pics
Stef, My wedding is on the 22nd. I emailed him 2 months ago to schedule a meeting time, and he said 'I prefer to wait until it gets closer'. So, I emailed him again 4 weeks ago and he said the same thing. So I contacted him 2 weeks ago, and we finally came up with the 18th as the date that I can meet with the photographer. I got an email from him today saying that the photographer cannot make it Tuesday. That whole time I was wondering why all the other vendors want to meet with me a few weeks before the wedding, but he prefers to wait. And, I was getting nervous about this. You know how it is, being so organized and wanting to have everthing in your calendar so you can plan and getting that kind of response from a vendor. Anyway, at this point, there's no point in worrying, I hope that things work out. Sorry for babbling.

Did you explain to Mark that you just can't do it so close to the wedding? Or that its a big inconvience. I can't imagine why he won't accomadate you unless the photographer is out of town or something.

Re: Brides who did not take engagement pics
He is going to meet with me this Tuesday for a practice session. And, I am going to talk to the photographer over the phone. I'm not sure why she cancelled for Tuesday, but that's the only time we'll be able to get out there until Saturday. As long as we feel more comfortble in front of the camera, I don't mind meeting her for the 1st time on our wedding day.
