Brides who had Infants/Toddlers at Reception - please help
When doing your seating charts, did you include a place at the table for an infant - like a 1 1/2 year old??

Hmmm...very good question. I would assume so if they need a high chair or a place to put their carrier?

I am probably going to have a baby at the wedding and he will not get his own place setting.
IMO I'd say 4 and over should get their own setting b/c they are too big to sit on mommy's lap. But younger should sit with mom or dad.

No...they sat in their parents laps.
ETA: And this was by choice...that baby was in someone's arms all night. I gave my 2 year old nephew his own seat though.

I am giving them ample room (only one person will have a 3 year old and a 5 mnth old) but I figure who wants a baby on top of them all night

I was just thinking about this last night!! I'm going to try and get a booster seat for my 3 y/o FG, I'm going to give her place setting. Her bro will be almost 2 but can sit in a high chair.

Yes - I suppose it makes sense to give them their own spot - my niece and FI's niece, they are both 20 months - a booster seat makes sense. Thanks!

No, we gave them the ages and they provided highchairs.

We're puttng all of our children at their own table. They range from ages 1 1/2 to 12. Instead of centerpieces there will be 2 dozen black and white balloons. we ordered bug placemats with our names and wedding date on them with crayons for the kids to color and we're making them goodie bags to take home.

We had to include every single person who was going to be at the table so the hall would know to include a plate or a place setting or to include a high chair. They asked us to label the seating chart with number of adults, number of children, and any high chairs needed. They didnt' necessarily include a place setting for the high chair, but they did make sure there was one there and enough space for the person to use it. Think about it, if you've got 10 people sitting at a table, and there's no place to put a high chair, where's it going to go?

Why don't you ask the parents of the toddler what they would prefer? If they're fine with having him/her sit in their laps then don't worry about reserving the space.

YES! Trust me, those parents will not get to eat unless there is a high chair for that kid, and will probably be chasing him/her all over the place.

That is such a good idea.

Has anyone heard of putting the kids in a separate room and having a babysitter watch over them? Alot of babies/toddlers may not necessarily have the same feeding time as adults. They will be bored and only be taking the time away from parents who have to watch over them.
I'm just wondering because we're having 10-15 kids from the age of a few months to 6 years in our weddnig. Eeeks! Yes, that's the problem when you're have a big family of older siblings. :P So wonder what the parents may think about that idea.

I thought of this, and think it is a great idea. My sister didn't think the same. SHe is very protective and would not leave her kids alone with a babysitter. Even if they are in the other room. You would have to see what other parents think.
