Brides who have or having several pre-wedding parties

Brides who have or having several pre-wedding parties

Somone said something to me this weekend that annoyed me. I told him about our E-party and then I mentioned that we were arranging a handfasting ceremony and then we would have the wedding. He called us greedy! I got annoyed and here is why.

the E-party we just made our money back, but we had asked people NOT to bring gifts. (no one listened.) but the reason for the E-party was none of our families had met! Nor did most of our friends and bridal party.

The handfasting is a spiritual ceremony. Something I know means a lot for my FH and I honestly feel the same way. Its a ceremony where we place our wedding bands on our right ring finger. We wear them for a yr and a day until the wedding. Only 10 people are invited and we have again asked for NO gifts. Joe and I are also going to be legally having papers filed for guarden ship over each other in case anything happens.

I have not asked or expect a wedding shower. and as for my Hen night, I'm paying for myself and this is only because I wanted to the girls to see this awoesome play with me in NYC!
I'm sorry girls, I'm venting. What that guy said now someone I know sent me an email saying something like that to that effect. It just really pisseds me off!

Tell him to have a Coke and a smile and a glass of S T F U.

I would say how is it greedy when we are not asking for gifts, but just asking them to be in our presence? That's all we want. If that is being greedy, then I guess maybe some people are better off getting married alone with no one around!

It could also be that they're jealous that you can have all of these things.

If there is one thing that wedding planning has taught me, it is that people are rude and have no tact. Don't let this person's negativity get you down. Your intentions were pure and that is what truly matters. Ugh - I can't stand people sometimes - just rude!

Isn't that the truth! People are rude. Nevermind that guy. I don't think your plans are greedy AT ALL. Enjoy your pre-wedding parties.

We got a lot of crap for having an Eparty. It really upset me at first that everyone even had an opinion about it.

But I'm letting it go and will enjoy all of my parties because I can! Im the bride!!

so people just say those things. I heard it as well. It was more of a party than an excuse to get gifts.
