I didnt go there for my HM but I have been there before. I would never rent a car on any of those islands especially aruba. It is so small and there is plenty of public transportation on the island.

You definitely don't need a car. You can take the bus or a cab anywhere and it's so inexpensive.

We didnt go there for our HM but were there on vacation. We used the bus mostly. It stops in front of all the hotels and takes you right into the center of town. Its only like 1$ or so each way per person. We also used cabs which usually came out to be about 10$. You def dont need a rental car.

I was their on vacation and we didn't rent a car. We didn't really leave our resort much and when we did we took the bus.

No need for a car, but one fun thing to do is rent a jeep for a day and drive around the backside of the island, to wear the road ends and it turns into a crazy outback looking setting. You can do a little light offroading and see the undeveloped part of the island. We did it on vacation and it was great.
If you don't want to drive yourself (which really wasn't a problem at all), they also have organized jeep 'safari's' which I'm sure are fun too.
