If your FH's family is from OOT and will be arriving a few days before the wedding, are you planning any special dinners/get togethers with the two families or are you just letting them entertain themselves? Do your parents feel obligated to take them out?

All my family (mom, sister, etc.) is OOT. They are coming 1 week prior to the wedding. They will only meet FH's dad that week. We will go to 'casual' places so it's not too formal and evebybody feels comfortable. They will meet the rest of FH's family on wedding day.
FH will be working all week prior to wedding so I have time to entertain them myself. I will be off work.

They will be arriving on Friday (the wedding is on Sunday). We will pretty much be letting them entertain themselves, there will be way too much to do those two days before the wedding. FH might go out to dinner or something with them.

My family is also OOT. They're coming in the Wednesday night before the wedding, which is a Friday night. The rehearsal dinner is Thursday night and is really more of an OOT/family dinner b/c the ceremony is at our hall and I think we rehearse day of. other than that I think everyone is pretty much on their own. I know our hotel will deliver food form local restaurants. I know FH and I will probably be busy so I will definitely try to spend time with my parents as much as I can but nothing formal other than the dinner.

my FH's fam is from Jersey.... not sure if that counts. But they are only coming out on Friday so they'll be at the rehearsal the night before etc.
if they were coming out a day earlier or something, i might have tried to do a dinner or lunch or something.
you could just give them some information on places to go, etc. if they are interested. some like to jump on a train and head to the city, etc.

They will be arriving on Friday and the Rehearsal dinner is that night. I arranged for a town car to take them anywhere they needed to go the day of the wedding.
My parents are having people over during the break between the ceremony and the reception and I am sure they will extend an invitation to them.

They will be arriving the day of the rehearsal , our families get along really well I know they will be entertained that day and they will be coming to our house that day/night to have some fun..relax enjoy

Mine is the opposite. My family is all from OOT. As my brothers, etc come into town w/aunts, uncles, cousins, they will be at the hotel partying, except those involved with the ceremony who will be at the rehearsal and dinner afterwards.

I'm glad to hear that most of you will be letting the family entertain themselves.
With them coming 3 days before the wedding and only having Friday planned (spa for the girls, golf for the boys) I was getting nervous.
