Brides whose reception is in the afternoon?

Where will you be going afterwards? My reception ends at 5:30 but I don't want to go to the hotel after that.. not until late that night.. So you girls have any suggestions for an after party.. somwhere near Franklin Square? Thanks..

I don't have an idea for a restaurant or bar, but could you have the after-party at someone's house? A friend of mine had an afternoon wedding, and had everyone to her parents' house afterwards. It was great because everyone was kind of tired, so it was more of an open house type thing. Some people just came and went as they pleased, and others stayed the whole night. They just got some catered food and stocked coolers with drinks...It was totally low key, but so much fun!

My FI and I had the same dilemma. . . we are getting married in the afternoon on June 24th. . .However, we were lucky enough to come across Glen Cove Mansion as a hotel for OOT guests. . .and decided to stay there as well. They have a cute but roomy attic bar with free pool and shuffle board, swimming pool, small bowling alley, beautiful gardens and walking distance to the beach. . . so, that's where we are going. We had also considered the bars at other possible hotels, Dave and Buster's and I had heard other girls mention the possibility of using a conference room in their hotel if it wasn't being used, as a kind of after party hangout. Not sure if any of these are helpful for you, but I wish you the best of luck!

Just realized you are getting married in November. . . not much use for a pool, gardens or beach, huh??

Mine ends at 5:00pm There is a park nearby. We may want to all (close familty) 'hang' there and rest for a minute. I am not sure I could eat anything afterward. I know some people change clothes and do to a local bar for drinks.

FH wants to go to hotel RIGHT AWAY!!!!!!!

I'll be up at 4am/5am getting ready for my morning wedding mass, then the reception till 6pm - I just want that hotel bridal suite w/jacuzzi and relax with FH when all is said and done.

yea,, maybe going back to my parents house afterwards.. and invite who ever wants to come.. we are not leaving until that Monday for our honeymoon.

We might got to FH's aunt house afterwards with close family and close friends....

There are a few bar/restaurants on Hempstead Turnpike and a BK Sweeney's on New Hyde Park Road. I'm sure one of them has a private party room if you want to rent it out.

We are going to go to the bar at the hotel. Maybe after a nap though.

Not sure what we're doing yet. I don't want to go to the hotel right away either. We don't have a hotel set up because we really don't have many OOT guests. I know my mom is having alot of people back to my parents house and I'm assuming FILs are having family back to their house too. No clue where we should go.

You're soooo smart! I too was up that early...by the time the reception was done...I just wanted to relax!...and that's all we did.
