I was just wondering if you are doing any 'give- aways' at your wedding? I wanted to do something, but don't want to make it seem like a BarMitzvah or Sweet 16....Any ideas? THANKS!
(I'M having 10 children under 12 years-the rest are adults).
Im just not into that..although my mom always raves about her neighbors dj b/c there were give aways. (even though the dj messed up their first dance song)
so I guess its to each her own.
That is why we are not doing any give aways. If youwant to do something I would give hats or leis or something but not the maracas or tamborine. I have found that when you have kids at your wedding and you give those instruments away it gets very noisy and annoying. I was even at a wedding where the groom took them away because the kids got carried away with them.
My FH and I decided it wasnt worth it to us. The only children we are having is my nephew (who will be 2) and 2 others older than 13. I say, do whatever you think your guests will enjoy...if you don't think they'll notice one way or the other, then don't bother. Good luck!
I was kind of on the fence about giveaways for a while. I didn't really want to have them, but people kept saying 'Oh you HAVE to!', and I was starting to think that if it's what my guests wanted, then I'd do it.
Well, my good friend got married 6 weeks before I did, and she had giveaways at her wedding. When she got her proofs back she saw that someone had wrapped a glow stick around her veil, where it remained for a lot of her reception pictures. She was NOT pleased, and that sealed the deal for me... NO GIVEAWAYS! : )
My Fh family is a diferent etnicity so they only ejoy their own music for which we are getting a band to play, I know they dont like DJ music so I figure with giveaways and dances like electric slide they might get involved and like it. I am not really having any kids so I'm sur eit wont get annoying.
I just think its a fun thing to do to without going crazy.
We're not having giveaways either. To us it's more for parties, not weddings. Instead of having giveaways, you can have something for the kids at their table(s) that they can play with or use. Maybe things that don't make noise? :)
I`m having a DJ, MC, a dancer and also doing the giveaways. I think it gets the people more involved and on the dance floor. We also have lights and smoke. I don`t think we really need it, but it comes with the package we got.
No giveaways here either. I can't believe how many djs we went to tried to push this on us. I didn't think it was appropriate for the type of wedding I was planning on having.
