Brides with tattoos-
I have a butterfly tattoo that I got when I was young and stupid right above- there's no classy way to say this- my boob. I thought my dress would be high enough to cover it but with since my goddess boustier 'holds the girls way up high', it totally shows-totally and completly. FH has already threatened to call off the wedding (he's kidding
) if it shows. I want to make 100% sure it does not show AT ALL. I think it will be very tacky and cheap looking for me to be showing a butterfly on my boob while wearing my wedding dress. I know they make some stuff to cover it, and was wondering if anyone has any experience to share (does that stuff work, will it come off on my dress or on FH when we dance?), or suggestions on specifically what to use, or any advice for me. I am beginning to get really upset about this.

Re: Brides with tattoos-
I did some browsing for you online... There's a tattoo cover kit by Covermark that sells for $25. I don't know how good the product is, but it may be worth checking into. You can find it at: http://store.yahoo.com/covermark/1602.htmlGood luck!!

Re: Brides with tattoos-
My friend uses something she has a big tat on her leg and she is a flight attendant and got sick of wearing pants. Just watch ya don't sweat it on your white dressWhen is your wedding you could have it removed..
Mine is on my lower back and I love it, but when I was 18 my mom reminded me it better not be able to be seen in work clothes or my wedding dress.. so I am good to go!
best of luck

Re: Brides with tattoos-
I too have a big problem. And its much worse than yours! I have a tattoo on each shoulder (young & stupid too) and i have a strapless dress
.I love my dress and knew this when I bought it.
There is a product called dermablend which is supposed to be excellent, however, i can't use any makeup products to cover these because it will rub off on my veil!
I am getting a 3 tier catherdral veil (cathedral part will come off after ceremony), however I hope with me wearing my hair half up and half down and the 2 layers of veil, this may be of some help.
FH said 'Its who you are and who I love' (awww) and he says not to worry.
Theres nothing I can do. At this point I can't afford laser to remove them either.
Someone told me of a skin colored 'patch' that you can put over them for cover, and if I can tell you I have searched the internet to no end for these, with out any luck.
So they will be staying with me on my wedding day, i guess wether i like it or not!

Re: Brides with tattoos-
Maybe your veil will hide the tattoos on your shoulders

Supposedly that doesn't rub off....

Re: Brides with tattoos-
I have heard that Dermablend is excellent for covering tatoos - I know that people also use it for covering scars, etc. and I am pretty sure it is designed to not come off when you sweat. They sell it at department stores, try it out before the wedding. I just checked and they have a website - www.dermablend.com. If not, maybe you could consult a dermatologist and see what they would recommend.

Re: Brides with tattoos-
I remember someone saying that Dermablend is used by actors so I'm sure it will be fine. I have a tattoo on my ankle (it's pretty big) But since it's covered I'm not going to worry. But I can understand how you girls feel. I wouldn't get it removed (unless you REALLY hate it)

Re: Brides with tattoos-
I don't really hate it, I just don't want it showing in my wedding pics. I also don't want certain people (like my grandfather who is very old school), to know that I have it. Even though I have had it for about 6 years now, I have managed to hide it from him. I also don't think that FH's family would appreciate seeing a big butterfly on my boob, you know?Getting it removed is out. I doesn't really bother me that much, beside the fact that I don't have the money for that right now.

Re: Brides with tattoos-
I have a tattoo also, on the very top of my arm (stupid me !!!!) but I really love it, and never hide it. I went to Macy's and had a demonstration of Dermablend. They were able to cover it up completely and match it to my skin color. And ladies, my tattoo is BLACK !!! I didn't think it would cover, but it did !!!!Also, my sister and I waited about 5 minutes, then tried to rub it off with our hands, and trust me, we rubbed vigoruously, and it did not come off at all.
Finally, the woman had to use some kind of solution to get it off.
I'm also using JN, and she will airbrush it for me after we apply the Dermablend.
Since I had my little 'test' I feel fully confident in using it as a coverup. I too, have a cathedral length veil, but I'm not worried at all.
I just want to be a class act for my wedding !!
