hey ladies...just looking for an idea on cost for the bridesmaid dress
what do you think is a decent bridesmaid dress cost?
what is too high?

i think 150-200 is a good number
that's about what I paid for all the weddings i was in
but it depends on your girls and their financial situations

I'm going to try my best to not go over 200...I don't know if my bridal party will care if I do since when we have bought formal gear for dances and stuff they spend over 300 but I'd rather they be super comfortable.

I'm hoping to find dresses under $200 but I can't even find a dress to begin with. I was a BM where the dress cost +300 plus after alterations. I was not happy about that and now i'm forcing myself to wear it to another wedding so that i at least get my money's worth. That's like a purse right there!!

Depends on what they can afford! I need to keep mine under $150, I don't think any mine can spend that much on a dress they will likely wear once (regardless of what the manufacturer says!). I think anything over $200 is crazy. I once had to spend near that on a BM dress and it really was a lot for me at the time. It's been sitting in my closet since I got it cleaned after that wedding. I don't want to do that to my friends!

My BMs dresses came out to $168 after taxes. I think anywhere from 100-200 is reasonable.

I am trying to keep it under 200. The highest I have ever paid was 350.. and I was mad... SOOO I do not want to do that to my girls!

i dont think i'd go over 200, or even 150. esp since these are dresses that really wont get much use out of them, i feel it's wrong to request that ppl spend so much $ on them

I've paid anywhere from $150-$350 for a bridesmaid dress. I felt the $350 was a bit too high. For my girls, I am going to find a dress for them that's around $150 before the alterations.

Usually its from $150 - $200. Although one of my friends made me pay a little more for my bridesmaid dress because the 'seamstress' had to 'use more material'!! I just started at her in disbelief esp since when I went to her same seamstress to have it altered, it was too big!! and the day of the wedding I had to put safety pins in the back to hold it up!
I mean I would try to keep it at least under $200 since they have to pay for other things (showers, bachelorette parties etc.)
