Bridesmaid Dress / MOH help

I have a fairly large Bridal Party, 11 girls.

And I wanted to do same color different style cocktail dresses for my bridesmaids. Originally, I was learning towards allowing them to pick any shade of grey (Silver - Pewter) in satin fabric, cocktail length. But, now my MOH thinks it's a terrible idea and wont photograph well and feels there should be some 'uniformity.' I had bought bold matching jewelry to bring it all together. But now that she was in my ear about it (and, I know she really is just looking out to me and wants my day to be perfect)I am starting to think maybe shes right.

Now I kind of just feel defeated and tired of the whole thing. I don't know what to do and where to begin. I'm doubting my color scheme all together (grey and ice blue) I liked my original idea because it gave everyone a choice and they could work within their own budgets, get something they could re-wear etc.

WahhhHhhHH. This isn't fun anymore!!!!!!!

i think you should be able to do whatever you want to do! if you want to stick with ur idea then go right ahead! if ur MOHs opinion is bothering you maybe you can do same color different style dresses and let the girls pick out their own shoes since the dress will be cocktail length?? HTH :)

I agree ...do what YOU want this is your wedding not hers! I am having 10 girls and not looking forward to bm dress shopping lol I found a dress I love but I am not sure if it will look good on everyone.

No I absolutely love this idea! If you found shades that really work together, then go for it!

I can't imagine that shades of greys/silvers won't photograph well. Please forgive me for saying so, but your MOH is talking out of her asss. I don't know about you, but I think this looks fab.

ETA: And this way everyone can choose what they feel most comfortable in. They'll probably even get a dress they can ::Gasp:: wear again! Don't worry, stick with your gut. People are going to throw a thousand different ideas your way and they are going to repeatedly tell you why you SHOULD or SHOULDN'T do something. Usually when people would tell me something, I'd smile and nod and then do whatever I wanted anyway. I'm not saying don't listen to them at all, but take each idea with a grain of salt. It's your and your FH's wedding and NOBODY else's. As long as you two are happy, that's all that matters.

ETAA: Also, don't google 'shades of grey' unless you want a lot of these pictures.
