I want to find dresses that look NOTHING like the typical bridesmaid dresses in pale yellow and if possible raw silk(very hard to find in yellow). I love the dresses on J Crew but hate the idea of ordering them online before trying them on. Any suggestions girls?

I wanted nothing but to find a bridesmaid dress that didn't looke like a 'bridesmaid' dress and found that it is almost impossible. I love the dress I chose but unless you buy from a department store I always feel like that. BUt they really seem to be making fun ones now. MOre stylish. Bari Jay/Jim Hjelm has some great dresses!!

WOW do we share a Brain?!?!!? i want my girls in lite yellow NON bridesmaid-y dresses too! I checked out J crew and they are so expensive- I was thinking of just picking another store like BeBe or something like that and just looking for a yellow dress and buying them off the rack.... I did look at davids bridal- cause then they can pick ANY tea length dress they want in yellow- since i like the mis matchy look too.....

tissue taffeta looks like raw silk without the bumps, but i def saw gorgeous raw silk BM dresses...... they were pricey though.
i know it can get a bit pricey, but i love the POB vineyard collection for non-bridesmaid-y dresses. idk about raw silk, but a lot of the dresses flow like silk (satin yoryu, silk charmeuse, etc.)

i'm in fsil's wedding in october and we're wearing j.crew dresses. she actually bought one for some of us to try on before ordering the rest. her plan was to return it if she didn't like it.

priscilla of boston - so reasonable. Not bridesmaidy and most were under $200. REALLY impressed. Honestly, I would wear most of the dresses to an affair myself.
It doesn't come in pale yellow but it does come in some really nice colors. I really wanted this dress but it is really fitted and it wouldn't have looked good on some of my girls. I still really love it.

My favorite BM dress comes I only a few colors and one happens to be yellow. It is a POB dress from the Vineyard collection it is $198 (I think)....im attaching a pic. IT IS AMAZING ON.
